Yes, that purported "news" article is absolutely awash with bias, but suck it CA AG!

    I'm a gun owner but I don't care about AR-15s. Ban 'em, don't ban 'em, don't care.

That said, from the snippet provided, the opinion looks reasonable when comparing CA law to other states. The bit about the Swiss Army Knife is strange, and seems completely irrelevant to assault weapons. I don't follow that reasoning at all.

    Banning things doesn’t work.

Regardless, banning this assault weapon is NOT unconstitutional...

Wasn't when they were banned in 1994

    Still isn't...

An AK-47 is an assault weapon. An AR-15 isn't. If you want to ban bump stocks, large capacity magazines, etc. be my guest. One trigger pull, one shot, is not an assault weapon.

The biggest surprise here is that the lefties weren't able to steer this to one of their never-ending supply of 'reliably friendly' judges.

Why do you believe its not unconstitutional? Do you believe that the 2nd Amendment is only about the militia?

Surely you jest. The 2nd was surely intended for only muskets as the 1st was for only printing presses.

Once you allow people who think that banning guns of any type to begin banning guns, they're going to keep banning guns until they decide to ban yours.
Attempting to control human behavior by manipulating inanimate objects has failed every time.

First they came for the "assault weapons", and I did not speak out—

Because I did not own an "assault weapon".

Then they came for the handguns, and I did not speak out—

Because I did not own a handgun.

Then they came for the rifles and I did not speak out—

Because I did not own a rifle

Then they came for the shotguns —and then I learned what "common sense" gun control "for the children" really meant.

    It's an excellent comparison.

The Founding Fathers were supportive of innovation and knew that deadlier firearms were a certainty of the future.

They had more advanced weapons other than the muskets at the time of the founders and the 2nd Amendment also, which only confirms what you said of course.

There is no such thing as an assault weapon. If someone believes so then they know d!ck about guns and their function or where the term originated.

I think they should legalize any weapon that someone want to buy.

From small pistols to low yield thermonuclear devices — since the founders should have anticipated those and didn’t exclude them in the constitution. We should probably also subsidize them for people that cannot afford one, it is a right after-all. Might as well rip the bad aid off completely. No background check, that is unconstitutional. No waiting period. Open carry. What a great country y’all are envisioning!

I will be visiting family overseas, y’all have fun

No where, perhaps because they haven’t made one portable enough yet to be classified as an “arm”. Do you think someone should rush one to market? Should the government be allowed to block their sale?

The AR15 clearly is not an assault weapon. However were it one, it still is protected by the 2 Amendment.

If one has a spare B52, one might want to buy one. But can you spare the change so i can afford a Spare B52?

    Who remembers this gem?

Anyway, when a person has a rifle you can see it, he can’t hide it and they are loud, so when you hear one go off you can prepare if needed. Handguns can be easily concealed and you won’t know a person has one until he starts shooting. And the sound of shots from handguns is often confused or thought of as coming from something else like firecrackers which causes people to react slower because they’re unsure of what they heard.

How is a bullet ejected again?
    Is it... an explosion?

So you are of the mindset that items that explode should be banned, but not items that simply expel a round? Correct?
