Just 14 Yrs Ago Hollywood & Democrats Loved America

We had patriotic movies for years. But we also had movies critical of America, particularly referring to the Vietnam War and the Iraq War. Longer ago than that we had black stars with great talent who made it through separate water fountains, bathrooms, back of the bus, and still, no black performer out there can match the talent they had: James Brown, Charlie Parker, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, etc. I know I've left out a few but feel free to add them. There has been none, besides Whitney Houston, that has the originality and TRUE gifted talent that they had, and they all fought the good fight and prevailed. America definitely has its faults, but everyone wants to come here and stay.

Blacks and whites have been singing and working next to each other for decades now. This isn't anything new. But it has BEEN made not true ever since you had a black president elected for two full terms. Yes, we had a black president elected twice, and since he won and left the democrats are still, using the race card to try to win. America is racist and horrible after electing a black man twice for president. Ya know, the guy that said you'd have to wave a magic wand to bring back the economy even better than it was? Are you kidding me?

Yes, really. And, where is Jimmy Kimmell? He had to flee didn't he, because he used black face. You think he is really on vacation he planned? Do you honestly think any of those in your picture can match the great talent I listed. And I left 'Satchmo' Louis Armstrong out. He is definitely included. The black NFL players in that video were proud to be Americans.

 

Blacks and whites still sing and work together. Hispanics too.

I think the point that catalinacat is trying to make is there exists an artificially promoted perception that racial relations some how rocketed backward to the Jim Crow days. That this happened overnight and is widespread. The race card came into play during the Obama years and pop culture and the MSM picked up the ball and ran with it. According to them we are supposed to believe that racism (they mean against only blacks) now several generations after the CRM that nothing has really changed. That is a huge lie and if anything the left's promotion of this is the culprit in all of the riots and discord. It is an election year, the left is desperate to seize power and thinks that division is the way to victory if that division means a lion's share of the vote. I don't think America is buying it anymore, even the riots have become a snooze. I think most people don't even see a connection anymore between the crazies and the George Floyd's death. The purveyors of Jim Crow racism of old are all gone. What little remains is a bunch of illiterate, low rent, hillbillies who are part of an extreme minority, a caricature, a cartoon, that no intelligent person takes seriously. Racism is an ugly ghost of the past and only the left wants to resurrect it.

 

TOP WOW!!!!! I saw these guys when they were brand new, that was before Woodstock. I saw them again in the seventies in Jacksonville Florida, that show ran like five hours because the audience wouldn't let them go. The band was in a groove and just loving it, they did like ten encores and there's no such thing as a short TOP song. All of my TOP LPs wore out and I replaced what I could with CDs. Every once in a while I'll see an LP in nice shape at a yard sale and I'll grab it. Some people don't know what they have, I've got some TOP records that I paid a buck for which is a lot less than what they were brand new. Nice pic thanks.

 

I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say. Are you saying there are less patriot movies now then there were 14 years ago? Or are you saying there is less collaboration between white and blacks in movies and TV then there were 14 years ago? Can you give some examples of the change? You mention the change took place about the election of Obama but when I skim through the the Oscar listings and top grossing films by decade I can't really see an obvious shift.

 

I am 79 years of age and every decade of my life we have had racial unrest and riots somewhere in the United States, some decades we have had several incidents of racial unrest and rioting including looting and burning. None of those black artists, named in the post, had anything to do with Hollywood their fame was based on their musical talent and ability.

 

Sure. No, has nothing to do with with movies now. Of course there are more blacks now making movies. If you watch the video, it is almost shocking to see Clinton there with Bush,Sr. and Michael Douglas announcing the choirs. It's a comparison to the way the black NFL players were happy, singing along to the anthem, excited about the jets flying over at the end of the video! They were happy, there has never been racial incidents in locker rooms. Now years later, after Obama is president, they all have a chip on their shoulder, they are cowering by kneeling at the games. They claim this country is racist, even after 8 years of Obama. That is not progressive, that is regressive. And it is also very stupid thinking. It's very revealing how a black president elected twice, makes these stars now angry about Jim Crow, etc, things that never involved them. It is negative and destructive. He did nothing for the black community. Now they act like it is against the law to even play the national anthem. It's almost shocking to see how patriotic every one was in that video compared to today. It is sad and I hope they stop it, because it brings the blacks down to see themselves as victims.

I was just highlighting the video and you can see the complete difference in the way games are portrayed now.

It isn't their choice. They can either be anti-Trump or be black-listed from Hollywood. Kanye West gets a pass because he's black but most other actors better BEWARE!

 

Nope, I was trying to show how the race card is being used today by the democrats. In the video, there was not a hint of that! Nada!.

 

Is there anything specific you think Obama should have done for the black community, specifically? And, if he did, do you think that might have caused an uproar?

I don't know where you get your info, but I think he accomplished quite a bit which benefited both white and black communities.

Tell that to democrat Vernon Jones and the democrat mayor Robert Vlaisavljevichof of Eveleth, Minnesota. They spoke at the convention this week. By the way this is NOT about the two parties. The left plays the race card and all it does is hurt the black communities. I'm a registered democrat, but I guess you could call me a conservative independent. I will never register as a republican, some of them are against their own president, but they are just sore losers who the president wiped the stage with. There are many successful, hard working blacks that support him and don't forever and forever, see themselves as VICTIMS. The video my post was about shows everyone is patriotic and happy about America, FROM President Bill Clinton, black NFL players to actor Michael Douglas introducing the choirs. It's so fitting in that the teams getting ready to play are the Eagles and the Patriots.

Now, this kind of show would almost be against the law, against the defeatist politically correct. Now we even got football, baseball, tennis, etc. being threatened. Sports have always been about escape, politics were never involved.

 

The highest percentage of black faces in that stadium were those of the NFL players. There seemed to be very few amongst the cadets of any branch, or when the cameras panned the stadium patrons.

 

Well there's nothing to keep them from coming to a football game or singing in a military choir if they wanted to. Nothing kept a black from winning two terms as president. Anyway it's such a happy, fun video.

 

Blacks and whites (all ethnicities, in fact) working together is the problem that the globalist corporate establishment must fix. Radical political change of the 'left hand path' variety depends in large part upon class and ethnic division. Authoritarian collectivism cannot be achieved when We The People are united, and skin color is the most simple 'go-to' divider for the authoritarian collectivists to insert their wedge and ham-fistedly pound away at.

 

It was a good video. I enjoyed it. I like various renditions of the Anthem from all genres of music. I hadn’t heard that one. I also get your point. Everyone looked happy.

Based on my experience in the States though, I would suggest to lower bold number one from a 10 to a 6 and increase bold number two from a 1 to a 2 or 3 depending on where you are and whether or not you're including overt or tacit/subtle racism and a historical narrative that is in enmeshed with various degrees of racial bias.

Perhaps what you are emphatically declaring is in fact you are not racist ( and I'm sure that's true) so that in your experience and through your lens racism doesn't really exist anymore. This may not be every Black American's experience.

 

Unfortunately, that “small minority” believes they’ve found a kindred spirit in the current President.

Our law enforcement (FBI, HLS) and military believes that “small minority” to be the number one terror threat to this country. HLS continues to drag its feet with a public pronouncement of their assessment. The military uncovered a inside plot to attack our troops by this “small minority”. They’ve infiltrated our military though the military finally acknowledged they themselves have an issue with this “small minority”.

Our allies are seeking our help because we’ve exported the issue.

This “small minority” is a major issue that we’re again failing to act upon, why?

We can’t even get this President and administration to denounce it. Have they found a kindred spirit?

Our housing laws have been in effect nearly a half century though rarely enforced. The voting rights act can’t get through Congress since portions were tossed by SC.

Obama didn’t stoke racial unrest our reaction to his rise sure did. He’s an excuse for our “small minority”.

We can work toward fixing any issue when we acknowledge there is an issue.

 

I think that systemic racism is dead or microscopic and that racism in general is on life support such that even hardcore racists understand that the game is over. I think it's more difficult to convince blacks of that, these things run deep and there isn't a word that describes the evil of that part of our history. Then there are those that still exploit blacks by continuing to stir the pot for political purposes.
