So we should ignore the loss of life and focus on the number of people being tested? Los Angeles went to the extreme on shut downs and mandates. Businesses that defied orders had their water and power shut off. Hair salons and restaurants were shut down for regular people, and results speak for themselves:

What I find revealing are the right wing puritans who attack or mock you in public for wearing a mask.

And how many would be dead if they didn't do that ?

13% positivity rate where mandates were in place, and a 57% positivity rate where there were no mandates. Math is fundamental

Cheap insult attempts only reveal a lack in confidence in ones chosen position. The rate of positives only applies to those getting tested. If more people with no symptoms are getting tested, the rate would naturally be lower. You are focusing on a useless statistic and ignoring the facts I posted.

Result: In spite of strict lock downs and mandates, Los Angeles was the worst hit metro in the country. I live here, so I wish I was wrong.

The lack of a federal response to the crisis is our issue. Full blown management incompetency has come home to roost.

Moore’s economic acumen is generally ridiculed and his prescription here will be also.

The problem with the current brand of Republicans, their theoretical bent blocks their view of every problem and hinders their response.

No their not. You're making that claim based on the raw numbers of cases, and then adding the ridiculous "if more people.....". Lets work with what the facts are first

    Alabama population = 4 million
    California = 39 million

    California positivity rate = 13%
    Alabama positivity rate = 57%

That alone shows that mandates work.....I understand they have a lot of cases, but they also have a lot of people. I wish you well as we all understand its not good there

You are incorrect. The facts I posted took population into account.

"In the past week, San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties have posted 1,415 and 1,102 average daily cases per million residents, respectively, the highest rates among counties of at least a million people, according to USAFacts, a nonprofit aggregator of government statistics that’s used by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Riverside County, also part of the Greater Los Angeles area, is the fourth-highest."

I don't support either party, so if there was a benefit to imposing a fine on those not wearing a mask, I would at least recognize it. Results show the opposite.

Democrats create healthy, vibrant economies and then those decadent capitalist Republicans come in and tear it all down. Yeah, that's the ticket alright!

Oops. So much for prognostications of Trump supporters regarding the stock market. People, don't buy or sell stocks based on who is in the oval office. Market timing has never worked and will never work. Just buy and hold according to your pre-determined asset allocation.

But this relatively mild recession as we get people vaccinated is far preferable to a full on depression which is what we would have had had blue city mayors and blue state governors had their way.

Nothing like making your opinions know by spouting wild arsed predictions of impending doom delivered by the other side. You should go to Vegas.
