Justice Department announces war crimes charges against 4 Russian-affiliated soldiers for torturing US national

This is the first time the DOJ has filed charges under U.S. war crimes statute.

In an historic move, the Justice Department on Wednesday announced it is unsealing war crimes charges against four Russia-affiliated military personnel with disturbing details of their alleged torture and inhumane treatment of a U.S. national in Ukraine following Russia's invasion of the country last year.

This is the first time ever that the department has filed charges under the U.S. war crimes statute.

The charges allege that Suren Seiranovich Mkrtchyan, Dmitry Budnik, Valerii (last name unknown) and Nazar (last name unknown) detained, severely beat and tortured an American citizen they had allegedly abducted from his home in the village of Mylove after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in early 2022.​

I don't recall even hearing about this before. Good to know that such barbarism will not be ignored and will hopefully not go unpunished, although obviously the KGB regime in Moscow will not hand these barbarians over to face justice. Hopefully justice will ultimately be served after that regime changes or collapses.

 

This is just stupid, when you think about the crimes that have been committed against United States citizens since WW2.

This isn't about justice, or punishing the wicked. This is all about "Russia, Russia, Russia!".

 

Somehow.....I wouldn't be surprised if one hears about these mongrels suddenly "falling ill"....or dying from suddem "strokes" or "heart attacks"?...., before seeing any trial or courtroom?

 

They won't see a courtroom in The United States, anyway.

 

Doesn't matter where....just saying ,that their testimony possibly won't ever be heard....wink....wink...

 

Isn't it more likely they will be put on TV and interviewed and probably given some military honors instead? Seems to me that's how the naZi regime operates.

That's just hilarious hypocrisy .. DOJ needs to take log out of own eye and charge all those involved in the mass torture fest happened after 911 first .. prior to looking at others.

For those of us who took an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution, the DOJ has become a treasonous joke.
