As someone that followed politics closely in 2000 just as I do now, I cannot help but chuckle just a bit at the reality that like Gore in 2000, Hillary has won the popular vote by a razor thin margin but lost electorally. Prior to both of those elections, with the national polls tightening, I distinctly remember a fairly sizeable swath of leftists almost laughingly boasting that it is very possible that Gore/Clinton may very well lose the popular vote and win the electoral vote. They would go on to boast about the electoral advantage that Democrats have, and how the smart people ignore the national polls because it is all about the electoral vote which Republicans cannot win.

I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same. In both instances, the leftists were the ones that were bit in the a** by the electoral reality, which was the same electoral reality that just prior to the election they were laughingly boasting about. Predictably now just as in 2000, you have leftists decrying that the electoral college needs to be abolished. Karma is funny sometimes.
