This is why we need a strong, decisive and clear thinking president guiding our foreign policy. Currently this is something we lack.

 

The US loads up tons and tons of grain and food to Russia every year. Every year we fill rusty Russian tubs full of food.

I've loaded up tons of food bound for Russia my damn self over the years. Probably over 1000 tons.

Half of Ukraine was a part of Tsarist Russia, and it was the Ukrainian area that was the bread basket of Europe. Russia did have the same strain of rich black earth as Ukraine, but not the climate.

The Soviet Union did develop some wheat that could be grown in the colder climate, but more recently under Vladimir Putin and because of the sanctions, Russia developed the strains that made it now the largest wheat exporter in the world - a position that we once held.
