Uncle Sam is sick after a serious bout of Trumpery. Republicans have the cure but are holding back selfishly.

The Trump black hole of scoundrelry, skullduggery, grifting, lying and fornicating has come to a head with a sickness encompassing the whole of society manifesting as implacable partisanship.

A few good Republican lawmakers are hold-outs who have not sold themselves cheaply to Donald Trump. Surprisingly, Jeff Sessions is one of the hold-outs.

    Trump has to go.

More blaming Trump for everyone else's problems. This country has a real need to 'look in the mirror'. It's hard to do but it's healing to do so.

Sessions will be the first to get his ass booted out after midterms. I've seen more useful algae grow on my fence than that jackass. Never, ever talk about scoundrelry, skullduggery, grifting, lying and fornicating in a sentence that doesn't include your Clinton Cartel and the Skankipotimus.:roflol:

In fact, we'd have to add murder and drug running if that were to happen. You are truly sad............not that I have an ounce of sympathy for you. :D

The investigation of Trump and family is still in progress because there are mountains of dirt to sift through.

I am not ruling out the most dire criminal acts in the Trump mountains of dirt.

Sorry but there needs to be a reason. Is it the good economy? NK not firing missiles? Low unemployment? Which reason bothers you most?

It's the sheer 'Trumpery goodness' of Donald Trump, his family, Trump associates, and Trump felons. America is not deserving of the goodness of rampant, untrammeled, Trumpery.

OMG! There is still someone out their that believes the "murder and drug running" junk. Truly these people will believe anything so don't bother trying to convince them otherwise. Scary.

Once a made up right wing claim is introduced into the echo chamber, it stays forever. Facts and reality have no place there.

Being a scumbag is not really a good reason to impeach. Quite often, one party sees a president from the other party as a scumbag.

There needs to be a real reason. IMHO, if what Cohen says is true - that Trump committed Cohen to commit a felony - that would be a good reason.

But I say we should wait for the Mueller report. If there is something in there that amounts to an indictable felony (even if Trump doesn't get indicted, because it is DOJ policy that a sitting president shouldn't be indicted) - then the impeachment wheels should start turning. But not before.

Frankly, until something like that comes up, people should stop talking about impeachment.

Talking about impeachment is great. It's provocative and infuriates Trump and his mindless base.

Why are you posting opinion pieces in current events when there is an opinion forum board?

A President can only be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors committed while in office. At the time of these supposed incidents Trump was only a candidate. I hate to burst the lefty's bubble but that is a fact.

Trump won't be impeached, he will get a second term.......Why you ask? "It's the economy, stupid" - James Carville. As long as the economy continues to grow.....Trump's not going anywhere till 2024.

"The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors."

I don't see that the Constitution limits impeachment to acts committed while in office. Can you please identify the legal source of your assertion?

Edit: PS - wishful thinking is not a source of law.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment

Also precedent has shown former impeachment proceedings against a sitting president were based on things done while in office. Feel free to look it up.

So those who think Trump can be impeached for acts before he was president are basically the new "birthers".....congrats.

I don't need to take anything back. I'm not a Democrat.

I think we both agree - there is no legal impediment to Trump being impeached. There is only the political impediment - because it is a political process.

At this stage I see no prospect of Trump getting impeached, let alone convicted. There is no reason to even talk about it now.

Dems want to get their base all wired up to go out and vote in hopes of impeaching Trump. They are playing upon the ignorance of their base in such matters.

    Ignorance?

There is nothing in the Constitution that prevents a president from being impeached for crimes he committed before he became president.

Sounds like the ignorance is on your side.
