I have to chuckle at the phony outrage of liberals that are hating on this Bundy guy. They act so concerned that he is getting away with not paying his fair share while they totally ignore others who fail to do the same. Like All Sharpton:

Here is Sharpton standing right next to Obama. Why didn't Obama have him arrested on the spot?

Here is Sharpton with AG Eric Holder. Why didn't Holder have him arrested?

    Here is Cliven Bundy:

So what is the difference? Looks like skin color. Could it be there are racists running the federal government now? That is what it looks like. So libs, where is the outrage with Sharpton?

The phrase "well-regulated" doesn't mean what you desperately want it to.

The following are taken from the Oxford English Dictionary, and bracket in time the writing of the 2nd amendment:

    • 1709: "If a liberal Education has formed in us well-regulated Appetites and worthy Inclinations."
    • 1714: "The practice of all well-regulated courts of justice in the world."
    • 1812: "The equation of time ... is the adjustment of the difference of time as shown by a well-regulated clock and a true sun dial."
    • 1848: "A remissness for which I am sure every well-regulated person will blame the Mayor."
    • 1862: "It appeared to her well-regulated mind, like a clandestine proceeding."
    • 1894: "The newspaper, a never wanting adjunct to every well-regulated American embryo city."

The phrase "well-regulated" was in common use long before 1789, and remained so for a century thereafter. It referred to the property of something being in proper working order. Something that was well-regulated was calibrated correctly, functioning as expected. Establishing government oversight of the people's arms was not only not the intent in using the phrase in the 2nd amendment, it was precisely to render the government powerless to do so that the founders wrote it.

The tyranny of one rancher being asked to pay the taxes he owes. What a hill to die on.

I call snipers pointing their guns at Feds a little worrisome, not exactly a "right". I'm not a lawyer, but I would imagine that is probably illegal. If you don't believe the photo I posted earlier, that's just one. Do a Google search.

FYI, if is US Federal land, then it is Federal jurisdiction, plain and simple. If the man owes taxes, then he has to pay them like everyone else. His belligerence has created this situation. This is a legal issue and he has elevated it.

Asked? You don't need an army to ASK-- that is what a tyrants do! I'm not saying that Bundy is right, but I'm pretty sure that this entire deal has been one-sided and heavy handed and has created a matter of principle to Bundy.

I bet they said that about "Bunker" too. Principles matter. :) "Bundy hill" needn't happen.

Yep, if everyone else has to pay their taxes, why does this guy think he's an exception to the rule?

And only a tyrannical government would send an Army to collect taxes. No one is innocent here. The government over-reacted and was met with sympathizers against such tyranny-- just as the founders had hoped the people would do.

Just curious. How do you feel about federal snipers training their firearms on citizens both are armed and unarmed?

"Military grade" weapons brought by the citizens?

I haven't seen any in the photos or reports. Where were they?

Lawyer or not, what you SHOULD find 'worrisome' (read: absolutely terrifying) is that the only people on the planet that fear the U.S. government...

    ...are U.S. citizens.

Intimidate law enforcement? Seems you don't know about the militarization of "law enforcement". Since when is meeting force with force intimidation? As wrong as Bundy may be (or not) there is no need for such over-reaction from government. I'm glad that the people stood up to the government. It likely saved lives up to now.

On another note, why is it that the federal government feels compelled to collect fees for otherwise unused land that belongs to the people and who are using the land to provide food for the people? I would think that having such a program would provide cheaper, more affordable meat.
