Unemployment across the country could drop the same way if employers were required to eVerify all their employees. It would make sure illegals can't work for legal employers, even the ones who purposely look the other way. I have read there are 5 to 8 million illegals in the work force. There are 14 million unemployed citizens. Just imagine adding 5 to 8 million jobs to the the economy. Whoever did that would would be the great American hero. However, don't expect the Democrats to get that done. They need the illegal vote to stay in office.

I call on all the unemployed to contact their respective Congressmen, Senate and House, and ask them to push for mandatory eVerify. Not only would it free up millions of jobs, but it would take a lot of pressure off of public schools as well when the illegals return home due to lack of employment. if you Senator or House Rep won't support the idea, vote against him/her come Nov 2012.

*INB4 "they are taking jobs Americans don't want!*

Actually, that excuse is becoming more rare, ever since that HUGE hiring blitz that McDonalds had a few months ago. People standing in line to flip burgers for minimum wage. Welcome to Obama's America.

Brew, I am an IT guy with credentials coming out of my ears. I am working part time as there are NO jobs in So Cal. The unemployment in my county is still over 14%. I would move, but I live in a prop 13/58 house. That means those dirty SOB's in Sacramento can't raise my property taxes much. I have a neighbor who works (sometimes) in construction, he told me that in 1990 he was making over $20 an hour. With the influx of illegals, he's lucky to get $14 these days.

As another So Cal resident, I hear you. It's really bad out there. I'm fortunate to have a good job at the moment, but there are no guarantees that it will be there forever.
