Can anyone name a country with lax gun laws like the US but also has low gun deaths? I keep hearing we need better enforcement or its the decay of the culture or this did not happen 50 years ago. What country is doing it right in your opinion?
The U.S. does not have Laxitive Gun Laws anywhere. Every State requires a background check to buy a firearm of any type. Every State has required paperwork or forms to be inscribed, a form 4473 etc... Every State follows not selling firearms to a long list of prohibited people. Also, those prohibited people illegally buying firearms once caught, and it happens often, are immediately arrested, since they are banned from ownership of any firearms even black powder, since loading them places prohibited people in Felonious possession of a firearm. So now you still have a vacuum, the hardened criminals will have guns no matter what and to fill this vacuum, a black market of dedicated criminals steps in and in addition to trafficking already illegal drugs, also traffics illegal guns stolen from many sources including Military and Police Armories and even Police destruction inventories. Even in New York City with it's strictest Gun Control, many of the Pistol license division were caught selling gun licenses to criminals, prohibited persons. So there you have proof positive, the true remedy is to aggressively prosecute violent criminals that murder others with or without firearms.
Why do gun apologists believe that hardened criminals will tell the truth about their criminal backgrounds when buying a gun from someone who isn't a federally licensed dealer?
Why do you persist in asking assinine questions ? A prohibited person is not going to let anyone see a drivers license when trying to illegally purchase a handgun, and are instantly put off if you simply recommend going to an F.F.L. for a transfer, or to the local Sheriff's office. Also, selling to those with a concealed carry license or a C&R license are other options.
Except there are no Laxitive gun laws. And prohibited persons will always be prohibited from ownership of firearms.
Why do those who support greater firearm-related restrictions believe that they will actually work? Why do they refuse to consider not only the possibility, but the confirmed fact, that they will fail?
Until your country stops liking having the facility to kill one another more easily than they can in the rest of the developed world then theres no hope for your society. Until then then 'Dirty Harry' fantasies will persist and theres nothing that can ever be done about that. Your schoolkids will as a consequence keep dying violently and in large numbers and still not enough people will care to change anything The guns are all
In my days in medicine, we learned, a Laxative is given to counter constipation, bowel movement difficulties. A few people here keep bringing up mythical States with so called "Lax" Gun laws, which I have pointed out countless times, does not exist as all States have a minimal standard of: 1. Instant comprehensive background check. 2. Various forms to be inscribed, 4473 etc... 3. No firearms sales to Prohibited persons or those underage or visibly intoxicated or obviously under the influence of controlled substances. 4. No sale to anyone obviously attempting a Strawman purchase, ie a purchase perhaps for a prohibited person(s). I refer to no States with Laxative Gun Laws as a sort of pun if you will, a Laxitive will be of benefit to someone that is full of things badly needing excretion.
Am I wrong in any aspect of my earlier post ? You like the idea of killing each other easily and the numbers speak for themselves in that regard. If that is what you enjoy then good luck with that
As a Constable and Police Agent, and various Security details, I never enjoyed killing, you seem to fixate on gory things as killing, it is unsettling and unseemly.
