I emailed the Surgeon Generals office and asked for links to studies on Marijuana Use and public safety. They emailed stating that a specific study was not available. And, that studies on alcohol and public safety often show marijuana also used. Not acceptable. My own research of various government studies and independent studies show no link between marijuana use and "assaults" and
" traffic accidents". Plus health effects comparing tobacco use to marijuana use are difficult to find. Being in charge or various government and private hospital cancer registries over the past 25 years I believe tobacco use to be far more deadly than occasional use of marijuana, although I can also say there is no registry specific to marijuana use.

The Federal Government has made growing an organic plant illegal, using marijuana illegal. We can reduce crime and the cost to taxpayers by legalizing growing and using the plant.

Damn right. It's really a shame that pro-gun conservatives can't see past the the rights enumerated in the constitution. The justification for legalizing drugs is identical to that for legalizing firearms. Neither drug use or firearm ownership is in itself coercive.

That's the general consensus from Portugal and Amsterdam.
