Let's debunk what CO2 does. Let's also explain what it does not do.

This is typical of the "simple solutions" mindset of many people. People like trump who never realized healthcare "could be so complicated".

Much of it stems from childhood indoctrination into the concept of GodDidIt. GodDidIt is much simpler to understand than something as complex as Evolution.

"Plant trees" is much simpler to assert than trying to understanding something as complex as the causes of AGW.

Hmmm and how much bicarbonate will we need to toss into the oceans???

The trouble with unreferrence rubbish is that it is often half remembered confused and misleading

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28250175 ACTUAL RESEARCH

For your claims to be verified we will need
    A) validation of the claim that CO2 was "five times higher in the past"
    B) Validation that oysters date back to that time period
    C) Validation that the oysters of today have the same genetic make up that would allow that degree of resilitience and by the look of the paper I just linked to the answer is no

The Coral triangle is also affected there just is less research done there

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27828972

Management does not prevent coral bleaching

In case you decide this is a "new" idea

    http://science.sciencemag.org/content/284/5411/118
A selection of SOME of the research
    http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/gcb.12154/full

    http://science.sciencemag.org/content/333/6041/418

    http://www.pnas.org/content/110/38/15342.short

And it affects corals throughout the world not just Australia

But this is only one of the multitude of negative effects we will see from global warming

And this is happening in EVERY country = thoughout the world?? All 189 signatories to the PAris Agreement?

And tell me, how many scientists are doing both the research into the impacts of global warming live OUTSIDE the USA???

Most of the trees being cut down are in the third world countries. If you lived in a third world country and your choice was starve or sell off your land for development into a palm oil plantation - what choice would you make? One of the solutions was to put a price on carbon emitted by industrialised nations and some of that price would go to third world countries to STOP deforestation - bit of a win/win

Guess who screamed loudest at THAT suggestion?

You know I judge people not on what they claim to be but on thier behaviours.

So if they claim to be, let us say, a PHD in atmospheric science and yet cannot link or reference in even a loose academic way I have a tendency to view the claim of academic scholarship with some jaundice

And again not one link, reference, validation, verification for a single claim

And THIS is supposed to be more valid than the IPCC report?

Sally - if you want to work through the REAL research and understand the actual science I am sure that there are enough of us on this board willing to do that using the IPCC as a template for the research done in the field

I am trying to be restrained because I swear at people when I argue. I'm not a global warming denier.

    You do a great job.

I try, but usually end up throwing a bit of "*****" & "PhuckWitt" commentary in.....:weed:

Of course oysters date back to the Dinosaur era along with other shellfish.
Genetic make up don't change acidification dissolving shells as some Chicken Littles claim.
    That's basic chemistry.

Here is your 5 times higher reference.
    http://www.livescience.com/44330-jurassic-dinosaur-carbon-dioxide.html
Dinosaurs that roamed the Earth 250 million years ago knew a world with five times more carbon dioxide than is present on Earth today, . . . .

I know your kind Bowerbird. One of the "Science faithful". And there is no debating with an item of faith.
You have a contrary reference to what I upload, I will gladly discuss. Otherwise you are . . .

    I believe! I believe!

BTW Bowerbird what was your last Science class or profession?
Anything beyond the required Junior High school class?

You truly speak with enormous fear. @Bowerbird

Going back to your thirty years fighting humans "warming the globe" What got you involved?

Was there an event that made you suddenly say, hey now, look at this. Earth is warming and I now blame man for it?

Why do you rely on a political forum? IPCC is a common place political forum. They anger scientists who do try very hard to get the truth told.

These freaks don't merely want us informed, the IPCC I am speaking of here. They intend to manage our daily lives.

Even now our autos are enormously effected.

    She blames humans.

I think you still ask questions.

Frankly I am sick of humans being told they control global climate. This is still a very large world.

Any climate scientist will tell you CO2 is not the only driver of climate

What were the orbital forcing during that period?

What was the solar activity like during that period?

Importantly how long did the change take place over because our current rate of change is what is most concerning as plants and animals will not have a chance to adapt

Now we know that life existed at the poles during this period but it is highly uncertain likely the equator was a vast desert

Since you refuse to explain why we need accept your claims, yet you run him and others down over their claims, maybe it is what we call a "Mexican standoff."

I knew by you using skeptical science you are not up to snuff.

I have presented actual scientific research papers from time to time but the Democrats and their insufferable supporters do not ever study the papers. They attack the source.

One instance of humans wrecking earth , which disturbed me, was the activity of the Chinese palm oil growers in Malaysia and Indonesia. The harvesting of timber in Irian Jaya is done with little thought for conservation.
Anthropomorphism aside, it is very sad to see orphaned orangutans in rescue facilities in Borneo. http://www.orangutan.or.id/
Then there's the soil erosion, and air pollution from the land clearing.

There are very many people on this planet and our influence extends a long way. Each of us has a greater effect than just the area around us and our houses.

Not only that but there is huge quantities of CO2 produced from the land clearing

Climate varies from the Antarctic to the deserts.

How can man make it cold in the Antarctic yet hot in Death Valley?

Death Valley, CA is east of the pacific ocean. The hills between the ocean and the valley are not special. We have similar hills in North CA. But we have no death valley. Death Valley existed this way long before the USA was settled.
