Did you want them to find something on Trump? Instead of using the investigation to show he had nothing to hide, Trump obstructed Mueller and ended up with Mueller adding another section to his report.

The investigation was legit. There was enough public information to raise questions, so all this stuff about dossiers is beside the point. Republicans appointed Mueller and he quietly investigated. The pols, including Trump, and the media generated all the noise.
