Trump, the lying idiot, will increase the debt by $4 trillion in just his first 2.5 years as president, breaking yet another one of his promises.

It's exceedingly clear that absolutely nothing Trump says can be trusted. The man lies nonstop about everything. And his supporters are just fine with it. They don't mind being lied to. They like it.

Meanwhile, Democrats, who claim to "resist" Trump, have signed on to this fiscal catastrophe, demonstrating, once again, that there is no real difference between the two major party establishments, and that Democrats are content to resist Trump in name only.

    Hallelujah!

The more debt we have, the quicker the system will collapse. Only then will we have a responsible government.

Come back to me when Trump does what Obama did which was to put on more debt on this country than every president in the history of our country combined. He literally doubled the debt. I find it disingenuous and funny at the same time that Democrats want to crucify Trump for everything when THEY have not done ANYTHING to help the American people since Trump's election. They have tried to destroy this nation by trying to destroy Trump. You people have some nerve....no one cares what Democrats say any more. All THEY do is LIE and SMEAR and they are ALWAYS WRONG. You make me laugh...

something changed under Bush, the debt started to grow a trillion a year and continues to this day

Bush's tax cuts for the rich and his wars are the only big changes that happened - Republicans will not fix this

What is this supposed to prove?

I find it disingenuous and funny that you assume I must be a Democrat simply because I speak the truth about Trump's lies and idiocy.

Democrats in the House voted for this bill. And Trump is going to sign it. You are on the same side as Democrats, not me. You are not a real conservative and neither is Trump. You are the ones destroying America.

Let's not interrupt this with facts. Oh heck, ok, facts.

Ronald Reagan: Added $1.86 trillion, a 186 percent increase from the $998 billion debt at the end of Carter's last budget, FY 1981.
George W. Bush: Added $5.849 trillion, a 101 percent increase from the $5.8 trillion debt at the end of Clinton's last budget, FY 2001.
Barack Obama: Added $8.588 trillion, a 74 percent increase from the $11.657 trillion debt at the end of Bush’s last budget, FY 2009.
Donald Trump: As projected in Table S-10 in the FY 2020 budget, Trump plans to add $5.088 trillion to the debt in his first term. That's a 30 percent increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017. If he remains in office for a second term, he plans to add $9.1 trillion. Trump had promised to eliminate the debt during his campaign.

If we went along with Democrat demands of free health care, free college, restitution to Blacks, help for first respondent's families, just how much farther do you think we would be in debt?

Not 2.5 years. From your link.....................

"we estimate legislation signed by the President will have added $4.1 trillion to the debt between 2017 and 2029."

Two points about that. 1. The tax cut was sold to the public as a measure that would pay for itself. It isn't. 2. Annual budget deficits like the ones we are experiencing are not typical for times of prosperity with trend GDP growth in the area of 2-2.5%. (Trump promise the tax cut would bring growth of 2.9%)
US budget deficit jumps 23.1% over last year as debt crisis looms
    https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/11/politics/treasury-us-budget-deficit-widens/index.html

Washington (CNN)The US budget deficit jumped 23.1% in the first nine months of the fiscal year compared with the same period a year ago, according to the US Treasury.

The deficit widened to $747.1 billion, versus $607 billion last year, from October through June. Federal spending rose to $3.36 trillion in that period, while revenue increased to $2.61 trillion -- both records.
    ..........................................................................................................................
The reason for the high deficits for the initial years of the Obama admin was the recession he inherited from Dubya resulting in higher social safety net spending (unemployment insurance-food stamps) and lower tax receipts due to the depressed economy as well as defense spending for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan he also inherited from Shrub.

I hate it that we keep adding to the national debt. However, all budgets have to be approved by the democratic house of representatives. It appears that they are willing participants.

    Democrats tax and spend.
    Republicans borrow and spend.

    No real difference.
Trump is a typical politician, spending other people’s money and the money of those not even born yet.

Any problem with Repubs being deficit scolds all during Obama's tenure when deficit spending was needed but having no problem with exploding deficits at a time of relative peace and prosperity with a Repub in the WH?
It should be noted that Dems opposed Don's tax cut due to its effect on the deficit and oppose the massive defense spending increase.
The prez sets the tone for budget and deficit priorities which is why the deficit is exploding under President Bunker but shrank under Obama as the economy improved and as he extracted us from Iraq.

Two things are very clear -- Congress wants open borders and congress will never balance the budget. Accept those two facts and just enjoy your life.

I am not required to. I made a comment on the deficit. I don't like it regardless of who caused it. We can get into arguments about Obama's ten trillion dollar addition and come to no conclusions.

Republicans: Let's cut spending on wasteful programs.

    Democrats: REEEEEEEEE

Republicans: Fine let's just get the economy going by cutting taxes.

    Democrats: But the debt!

Republicans: Guess you'll have to cut spending.

    Democrats: NEVER!

Democrats: fine let's cut military spending.

Republicans: the entire military budget is a fraction of the money you want to spend on cow burp arresters.

Democrats: It's the end of the world!

Republicans: Guess the debt doesn't matter then.

The 1st 2 budgets of the tRUMP reign were both R controlled.
Throwing blame over the wall isn't going to work.
It only shows those who don't really care about the issue vs those who do. Which is almost no one.
Most just want to finger point.

Not just congress, made up of D party and R party. But also, the office of the prez, which is always occupied by D or R.
The issue is mere finger pointing political fodder. Divide the sheeple.

Donald Trump: “We’ve got to get rid of the $19 trillion in debt.”

Bob Woodward: “How long would that take?”

Trump: “I think I could do it fairly quickly, because of the fact the numbers…”

    Woodward: “What’s fairly quickly?”

Trump: “Well, I would say over a period of eight years. And I’ll tell you why.”

Woodward: “Would you ever be open to tax increases as part of that, to solve the problem?”

Trump: “I don’t think I’ll need to. The power is trade. Our deals are so bad.”

Woodward: “That would be $2 trillion a year.”

Trump: “No, but I’m renegotiating all of our deals, Bob. The big trade deals that we’re doing so badly on. With China, $505 billion this year in trade. We’re losing with everybody.”
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...n-debt-in-eight-years/?utm_term=.a16064223553

He now has only 5 left on that 8 yr promise. And things have got worse since this 2016 claim.
The trade balance is getting wider.
The deficit is growing ever larger.
More winning. Not sure for who.
