Liberalism vs Progressivism in the United States

I view American liberalism and the international ideology of progressivism as distinct. I am troubled by the fact that progressivism seems to be by some measures taking over my beloved liberalism. Does anyone else here identify as a liberal but a progressive? Does anyone know of any organizations or groups that are liberal groups rather than progressive ones. I want to join liberal interest groups or organizations.
