Liberals And Never-Trumpers Are Right, DeSantis Is ‘More Dangerous’ Than Trump — That’s Why He’s Win

As Ron DeSantis demolishes the COVID-19 house of cards and turns himself into a potential favorite for 2024, he has pulled closer to (or overtaken, depending on the poll) former President Donald Trump. And the media has naturally been there to screech every step of the way. A handful of commentators have even called him “scarier” than Trump. And if they care as much about their COVID restrictions and wokeness as they claim, then DeSantis might just be their worst domestic nightmare, pulling crucial parts of Trump’s base that feel alienated after 2020…

…For Trump supporters and moderates living in other states, however, the possibility of seeing Florida law go national is irresistible. If Michigan had such laws, the Wicked Witches of Lansing and Lockdown Queens Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, AG Dana Nessel and SOS Jocelyn Benson wouldn’t be looking at another four years in power. Anecdotally speaking, many of my neighbors have wished we could poach Ron from Florida. Seriously. And did I mention election integrity is another major concern of Trump’s base?

And that is why the media is panicking. The COVID narrative was the basis of Democrat power. DeSantis proved DNC/media scaremongering was smoke and mirrors for a naked power grab through “election fortification.” The combination of no more COVID measures and election integrity laws nationwide spells an end to their shenanigans.

Add to that anti-riot laws, a booming Florida economy that is poaching businesses and people from blue states, open defiance of Joe Biden’s vaccine mandates and the battle against Disney’s support of child sexualization, and you have a near-perfect GOP candidate who has hit every single major social issue while providing a model on how to run a state. And he has accomplished all of this legally, in keeping with American traditions of federalism that have nullified Washington’s overreach.

To top it all off, DeSantis has the ultimate “own-the-libs” card straight from the troll’s manual. Of course I am talking about the founding of DeSantis Air. Dems couldn’t be bothered to go to the border, so DeSantis Air brought the border to them – to Martha’s Vineyard, no less.

Nothing else did more to expose blue-state virtue signaling than giving rich Democrat open-borders advocates a taste of their own medicine….

This is one heck of a right on Op -Ed article. De Santis would make an awesome President of the United States. His policies as governor of the state of Florida have been perfect.

De Santis is right on the issues. He’s been right on the issues. He has far less baggage than Trump. He’d totally own the secular progressive left. He will make them wish they’d never stolen Trumps second term

I am sure I can speak for all liberals when I say we thank tucker carlson’s — yes, the one that Fox News successfully argued in court that only an absolute idiot would believe — opinion blog for their thoughts.

I for one am deeply excited to see the desantis - trump fights.

@DEFinning Hmmm.... Maybe you are right. If this ride and die Trumper is giving up on him for DeSantis maybe it is a sign. I thought he would be in that 35% that would support him to the end.

I will support either if they are our nominee. I’m simply willing to consider than De Santis has the greater upside. Not will to support any other at this time.

Depending on what thing you are saying that I might be right about, you may now be lagging behind my newly forming opinion. If you'd only meant, about DeSantis intending to run-- glad you're caught up, on that. As far as his being the most likely victor of the Republican Primary, I'm starting to reconsider. It could get very interesting. Here is a post explaining my recent, more seriously questioning of DeSantis's advantage.

of the next deadly covid variant meets florida's cooked statistics and desantis' covid friendly polices before 2024 does that change the game at all?

disney, by the way, contributes no more to child sexualization (i can't believe they did not write "grooming") than trump's pagents or the insidious habit of sitting on an old man's lap to tell him what the child wants for christmas. (the war on christmas was rather tame this year. i'll hit on this capitalist sponsored grooming next december.)

Still leaning toward Trump for now. I’d get the most satisfaction of imposing him upon the bicoastal secular progressive urban elites. Getting even with them for screwing us over a bit fender and no Vaseline with Let’s go Brandon would be reason enough to go with Trump. Especially to see the reaction of my fellow Californians from the coastal cities.

when your platform is to radical for the country and you are just in fact a very vocal minority (RW christian nationalist) a common sense formula would be to move more to the center, desantis is to radical to have enough appeal outside the base

We need a potential 2 termer in 2024 so that we can make sure the 2030 census doesn't screw us out of ECVs and House seats

Rather, DeSantis may be the first major American Politician to note the tremendous environmental destruction of Dems Open Borders Policy.

Swiss National Referendum Will Limit Population To 10 Million Through Strict Immigration Control, To Save Environment
    [IMG]
Can a national referendum on immigration in Switzerland help save the country’s environment?

'Europe increasingly faces environmental catastrophe, a housing crisis, and huge strains on public resources due to soaring immigration levels. Many European nations are among the most densely populated nations in the world and life in them is only expected to become more crowded in the near future unless dramatic action is taken. Switzerland is no exception.'

DeSantis is like this fluffy little bunny.

    What could possibly go wrong?

But wait I thought you told us that you were not a liberal?

DeSantis has been a great governor and he would make a great president for you and I both.

You know in the aftermath of hurricane Ian I was actually a little bit proud of Biden because he said that he was going to do everything he could to free up federal responses as quickly as possible.

Here it is over 100 Days later and the people around me who have been made homeless are still waiting on FEMA trailers that are parked out in the county in a vacant field. They've been sitting there now for well over a month.

And the people made homeless by the hurricane still await their arrival.

And from what I hear they are only there for 9 months so by the time they get them, they'll only have three or four months to actually live in them

There are still people living in tents and people that went back to their homes once the flood waters receded and of course they had to rip out all drywall and insulation and do the best they can with mold mitigation.

I said I am not a Democrat — if you are going to obsess over me at least get it correct.

desantis uses the government to attack companies that disagree with him and frequently engages in stunts such as his election fraud arrests that go no where.

I am not surprised you love him

I would certainly hate losing DeSantis as my governor here in Florida as he has been the best in the country by far as I travel many states for work and Florida has been on another level considering the number of transplants we get moving down here every year. I could just imagine how great he would do as a president.
