https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCS6PbtbGmA Anyone want to talk about this guy I'm kind of tired of the Trump/Hillary debates. What problems do you have, what do you like about what he's saying. Personally he seems a lot more level headed then Trump/Hillary. Seems to understand his role as President then either one of them as well. Hes on the national ballot in every state. Hearing him talk to me is just so unpartisan and refreshing. It just seems like a happy medium everyone can get behind, but no one is.
He's polling at 12% in a three way race. Fwiu, at 15% he gets a podium at the debates. I would love to see it. Thinking of voting for him.
That a speaks to the very basis of the problem with politics in America. Voting for who we feel is more popular is not a reason to vote. Its about what's right for the county.
How intellectual is it to keep voting for two different sides of the same coin? Better yet, if Johnson best represents my views, wouldn't voting for Shillary or trump be "throwing away my vote"?
America uses a two party system, just the way it is. Voting for a third candidate might make that candidate some money, but that's where it ends. You just threw your vote in toilet
Nah, you threw your vote in the toilet when you voted for a complete moron that's going to loose to a corrupt (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) like Hillary. Actually, you probably helped get her elected. Ponder on that champ.
Here is how it is. There are only two people who can become president, trump and hillary. Even if you hate both, you probably think that one is worse than the other. If you vote for a third party that has the exact same result as voting for the obe you think is the worst. Only if you think they are both 100% equally bad can you rationally vote for third party.
They are equally horrible. One is a complete buffoon, and too lazy to actually run a campaign. The other is a unhinged liar, and corrupt beyond belief. Voting for either one is the equivalent to taking your ballot, and wiping your ass with it.
If that were true there would be no independents ever elected. America would not have gone through the reforms it has. Lincoln was a member of a 3rd party.
Voting for a third party is not at all the same as voting for the worst of two ********s, it's voting for a third party. As a third party gains number, as people see it as not being a "wasted vote", real change can occur. It cannot occur if you keep voting for the least of two evils, and all you will get is worse and worse candidates. I mean good god look at what we have now. The major party candidates are a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing dumpster fire.
The problem isn't with people's attitudes to voting.. it's the system. In your system, the better a third party does, the more it hurts its own voters by guaranteeing a loss for the main party they most agree with, and a win for the party they least agree with. YES THIS SUCKS But that is how your system works! And sorry, you can only make your choices among the alternatives actually available to you.
If Trump comes out in support of this no fly no buy horse(*)(*)(*)(*) its not throwing my vote away because at that point there will be no essential difference between the other two. At that point its damned if I do damned if I don't so I might as well do whatever I want.
No it's definitely peoples attitude. The only reason anyone even views it the way you just did there is because of the belief that there are only two parties to choose from, exactly the attitude that needs to change for the system to change. The two major parties are not the end all be all, though they are certainly using their power to fortify themselves as much as possible. Unfortunately short of third party victories, there's nothing the people can do about that, nor can the voters effectively change our government other than the few side issues the parties use to polarize us.
There are only two parties to choose from. Your system works like that. In e.g. sweden we have a different system where you can have many parties. Your system is not like that.
