There is no comparison between Trump and Obama. Not on who is the better man. Not on how was the more enlightened leader. Not on who had a better vision for America. That, despite the fact that Obama, ultimately had to operate within the same corrupted framework that has taken over American politics. And was, therefore, inevitably somewhat corrupted by it himself.

Trump, on the other hand, while has some minor things to his credit (like being transparent), is ultimately on the wrong side of history on everything. Even when he speaks about the 'establishment', about 'fake news', and about many other things which do have some basis in fact, he is ultimately promoting lies and falsehoods. Which is why the outlets that promote 'fake news' the most, and do so in the most obvious manner, and why the special interest groups which are the most corrupt and embedded in American political culture, are often the ones promoting him. There are, to be sure, similar ones on the 'left' in American politics, but no where as popular and no where as divorced from any interest in truth, as much of the right wing in America.

In this mix, while Biden used to be an able politician, who was adept at navigating the corruption that has taken control of America without being totally absorbed into it, the truth is that he is indeed too old. Too old to be up for the real fight that needs to take place in America. Sure, he has a good chance of beating Trump, but lets not kid ourselves: if Biden wins, it is not because people will be voting for Biden, but because they will be voting against Trump. Otherwise, an old man like Biden would have a hard time getting anyone excited to listen to him. In this regard, regardless of the similarity between them in age, there is still no comparison between Trump and Biden: Trump is a lot more energetic still than Biden. And a lot more capable of stirring a crowd (even if his crowds were never as large as he liked to market and even if many of them were indeed on the wrong side of history) than Biden.

And I agree with your verbosely worded larger point that the US political system is corrupted by self (and Party) interest. The 'swamp' is real and permenant...it is just made up up different bastards at max....every eight years. In the case of Trump, he is gone after four.

You are right, but in this case, getting rid of trump is a national priority before he completes the destruction of America.
Biden isn't an extremist narcissist with delusions of grandeur and his administration will bring in many intelligent and talented people and he will listen to them as he governs. America was never designed to be a totalitarian shithole and trump has tried to make it into one. Perhaps if he wasn't such an emotional cripple, he might have fooled more people for a longer time, but his pathetic responses to the virus and the anti-racist protests have pulled his panties down to his ankles and even the most poorly educated are seeing him for what he really is.
I do applaud the trumpsters who were smart enough to keep away from his idiotic rally. Try bringing that same common sense to the voting booth in November and help take your country back from the most unfit potus in the history of the US.
