Well, that's a surprise. AIG has plumbed for Luxembourg, Beazely for Dublin. Zurich is obviously already in Zurich, AXA's already in Paris and Allianz already in Munich. It looks like the EU insurance market is scattering to the winds rather than clustering around a single competitor to London. Brussels is probably a good choice because they also get access to the regulatory bodies of the EU. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...icks-brussels-for-post-brexit-eu-headquarters
Wait until the **** hits the fan in the Eurozone countries - they'll all be scuttling back whence they came.
They are moving the minimum that they have to. There's no exodus of big swinging d*cks from the City.
If the insurers can get a cluster going somewhere on the continent, there may be cause for alarm. There just doesn't seem to be any coordinated effort to create another centre (yet).
All the EU insurers will be opening offices in the UK too. It cuts both ways. They all need offices in both jurisdictions if they wish to sell in both. So operating costs up a smidge for them. And property prices up a smidge in London to meet the increased demand for offices.
