Good old USA, reluctant to join us in the first world war, more so with the second world war, then went on to get flogged out of Korea, Vietnam and the Middle East. American Military is pure Hollywood!

    Authority over what exactly?

Australia isn't going to buy or even be allowed to buy B-1B's or B-1R's or B-1MC's.

The USAF is the Military Service that will be flying the B-1MC's.

Australia will be flying a limited number of F-35's capable of accessing targeting and firing the CUDA Hypersonic Missiles carried aboard both the Aussie F-35's and the B-1MC's.

Since the F-35 is a 5th Generation Stealth Fighter/Attack Aircraft that although much more expensive than say a Typhoon Eurofighter.....the F-35 survivability exists at many....many more times the level of a Typhoon Eurofighter or any other existing Nations Fighter/Attack aircraft save the American F-22 Raptor and the new Gen 6 and Gen 7 American Self Autonomous Robotic Stealth Fighter/Attack Aircraft which without a Pilot are much Stealthier, many more times as manuverable and much faster.

As well without all the extra systems and ejetion seat and weight dedicated for a Pilots survival.....these Gen 6 and Gen 7 U.S. Robotic Self Autonomous Fighter/Attack Aircraft which have already many times demonstrated their ability to be launched off of and land upon U.S. AIRCRAFT CARRIERS......having much less mass than a Piloted Aircraft can carry the necessary fuel and with their much lower mass can stay aloft on station either in Search and Destroy Mode seaking TARGETS OF OPPERTUNITY for anywhere from 24 to 72 HOURS or more.

Their smaller mass makes these craft even more Stealthier than a F-22, F-35 or B-2 but these Gen 6 and Gen 7 Robotic Fighter/Attack Aircraft are capable of carrying more JDAM's and as the CUDA....the very small in comparison to standard U.S. Air to Air Missiles which allows the F-35 Stealth Fighter/Attack Aircraft to carry not only a large number of the CUDA's per F-35 but as well each F-35 can also carry in addition at MINIMUM TWO 1000 lbs JDAM'S as well inside their INERNAL BOMB BAY AND INTERNAL MISSILE CARRYING BAYS.

As the CUDA does not need an actual explosive warhead due to the CUDA'S HYPERSONIC VELOCITY.....it is much smaller than the current U.S. Miltary Air to Air Missiles and a CUDA either fired from an F-35 or a CUDA carried by an B-1MC's Air to Air Carriers.

The CUDA Air to Air Missiles impacts another Aircraft Targeted at such a high velocity that it creates MORE DAMAGE than any Standard Air to Air Missile with an Explosive Warhead made by any Nation INCLUDING THE UNITED STATES.....with the exception of the very small in number supposedly no longer existing but I know better.....NUCLEAR TIPPED AIR TO AIR MISSILES.....still existing in secret USAF inventory.

The combination of the Aussie F-35's along with the Supersonic USAF B-1MC's will give Australia unprecedented AUSSIE AIR FORCE DEFENSIVE CAPABILITIES that granted.....it is well understood that this Aussie Air Force Capability fit's into current U.S. Military Planning and U.S. Military Global Force Projection as well as U.S. Military Potection Capability of U.S. Allies.....but this is all beneficial to the AUSTRALIAN PEOPLE!!!

Haven't heard the explanation for that yet.

Your statements are Dishonorable considering many Australian's DIED being part in such Wars and Police Actions!!!

It is one this to disagree with a WAR.....or as in my case I was COMPLETELY AGAINST THE U.S. INVASION OF IRAQ as I knew that as brutal as Saddam was....HE WAS THE ONLY ENTITY PREVENTING AN ALL OUR SUNNI/SHIA CIVIL WAR!!!

I was however COMPLETELY IN FAVOR of the original PLAN of placing small numbers of U.S. Special Forces, Rangers, CIA Teams and Special Teams into Afghanistan....the last being what my Team is classified as but they are no longer MY Team as my SECOND has taken over and I am RETIRED....and I am back in the STATES!!!

There was only 197 of us on the ground at first and we were able to direct U.S. Military Air Strikes THAT KILLED TEN'S OF THUSANDS OF THE ENEMY!!

We knew the HISTORY of Afghanistan and how no INVADING EMPIRE had ever been able to hold Afghanistan's Territory as Afghanistan as a NATION END'S A FEW HUNDREDS METERS FROM THE BOARDER OF THE EDGE OF THE CITY OF KABUL!! Thus Afghanistan was known as AN EMPIRES GRAVEYARD!!!

But we KNEW this and had different plans!!

196 of us directed U.S. Military Air Strikes and we called in such Air Strikes and did everythig from LASING TARGETS to calling in Coordinates that so Decimated the Taliban and Al-Qaeda that in some cases a sngle unit was able to direct U.S. Military Air Strikes that killed the enemy in THE THOUSANDS!!!

In a 2008 New York Times book review of Horse Soldiers, a book by Doug Stanton about the invasion of Afghanistan, Bruce Barcott wrote:

"The valor exhibited by Afghan and American soldiers, fighting to free Afghanistan from a horribly cruel regime, will inspire even the most jaded reader. The stunning victory of the horse soldiers – 350 Special Forces soldiers, 100 C.I.A. officers and 15,000 Northern Alliance fighters routing a Taliban army 50,000 strong – deserves a hallowed place in American military history".

The Washington Post stated in an editorial by John Lehman in 2006:

"What made the Afghan campaign a landmark in the U.S. Military's history is that it was prosecuted by Special Operations forces from all the services, along with Navy and Air Force tactical power, operations by the Afghan Northern Alliance and the CIA were equally important and fully integrated. No large Army or Marine force was employed".

THEN SOME A$$#@!E IN DC DECIDED TO GO NATION BUILDING IN A COUNTRY THAT STILL EXISTED IN THE STONE AGES!!!

As far as KOREA.....the U.S. ROUTED the North Korean's and moved to within a few miles of the Northern boarder of China before Chinese Troops poorly trained and equipped Chinese Forces flooded over the boarder from China in huge numbers.

The U.S. Marines, Army and Air Force killed UNTOLD NUMBERS OF RED CHINESE.....as the poorly trained and equipped Red Chinese Soldiers would charge head on into INTERLOCKING POSITIONS OF U.S. MARINE AND ARMY HEAVY CALIBER MACHINE GUN'S SUCH AS .50 Caliber Posts, .30 Cal's, Mortor Set's, Artillery and as two of my Great Uncles were up at the front they told me horrifying stories of Thosands upon Thusands of Dead Red Chinese Soldiers who charged into such Heavily Defended Interlocking Fields of U.S. Marine and Army Fire!!

It got to the point that there existed MILES of 10 to 15 foot high lines of dead Red Chinese Soldiers yet their Communist Military and Communist Party Leadership ordered these CHNESE KIDS to CONTINUE THEIR ATTACK and they would have to climb over 10 to 15 foot high PILED LINES OF THEIR OWN DEAD to continue their attack!!!

But as the Chinese Communist Party and Chinese Military Maoist Leaders did not care about was.....THEY DID NOT CARE HOW MANY OF THEIR OWN KIDS DIED IN SUCH ATTACKS!!!

Because of this U.S. Marine and Army units started running out of ammo and when more ammo was rushed to the front to continue the SLAUGHTER....a second prblem developed and that was the U.S. WEAPONS such as the .30 and .50 Cals as well as the Mortors BEGAN TO OER HEAT to the point at first the U.S. Army and Marines had to pour out their own water supplies to cool down the barrels and Mortors to prevent them from seizing, cracking or exploding due to over use and the heat.

When the U.S. Forces used up all thier water they URINATED UPON THESE WEAPONS to cool them down....AND THE SLAUGHTER STILL CONTINUED.

Finally after perhaps 750,000 to 1 Million Red Chinese KIDS had been killed....U.S. Weapons Systems began to fail.....and as more and more Red Chinese Poured over the boarder.....with the U.S. Military very low on ammo and having lost their .30, .50 Caliber, Mortors, and Artillery to cracking, seizing and exploding due to over heating....the U.S. Military had to retreat to U.S. Ships waiting for them on the Northern Coast.

Vietnam....a U.N. declared Police Action had a U.S. President....Johnson....not allowing the U.S. Military to fight or even fire at North Vietnamese Forces unless first fired upon.

Funny enough now....Vietnam is desperately courting the United States and the U.S. Military to return to Vietnam and set up once again massive U.S. Military Bases as Vietnam wants both U.S. MILITARY PROTECTION FROM CHINA and as well along with the Monetary Benefits that come with having U.S. Military Bases in Vietnam.....Vietnam also want's to develop super close relations with the United States that would be a beginning toward aquiring Most Favored Nation Trading Status.

    None of this is HOLLYWOOD!!!

All of this is very real!

It's not. A congressmen somewhere said the US was going to deal with Chinese expansion into the South China Sea by placing bombers in Australia.... which was later withdrawn and denied. It's a nonsense story. The US does deploy the odd formation through Darwin to use the large bombing range in the NT, which is unique and suited to live fire training - but that is just facility sharing. The ALP did allow the USMC to base I think an Infantry Regiment up in Darwin, but that is about as far as it goes.

Australia is now under control by force of China, and if we don't like it, China has the military not to care!

They are already covered in the budget, and the first ones are already off the production line and RAAF pilots over in the US learning how to fly them.... so its not that far off.
    Here is a RAAF pilot in a RAAF F35;

My comment is in reference to the risks they represent, not its contribution to the power grid, as per my quoted text in my reply about "Chernobyl or Fukushima" in reference to accidents. I'm not sure what they use it for, but it does operate for most of the year from what I've read.

Chernobyl Today: Its population had been around 50,000 prior to the accident. Today, the only residents are deer and wolves along with a solitary guard.

May 20, 2015 Japan's nuclear regulator signed off on the basic safety of a reactor at a third nuclear plant on Wednesday, as the country inches toward rebooting its atomic industry more than four years after the 2011 Fukushima disaster.

The safety approval is still only one of three needed before the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA) gives its final sign off.

The 'it' is in reference to the local one, not the two overseas accidents. Is English your native language?

    Hmmm,
when I was young, there was a big movement against nuclear weapons, worldwide that is.

I know it happened here, I know it happened in Japan, I've learned it happened in Europe, and to some degree in the US.

What has happened to those folks, and their children?

Isn't there anyone left to fight against this complete overkill?

I was proud to grow up in the sixties and seventies, God I hate today's kids being brainwashed to sub zero standards.

Time to stop glorifying our armies, anywhere.

Time to stand up for what we once believed in....

    Regards
