    It takes 3 buttloads to equal 1 shitload.

    and it takes 4 shitloads to equal 1 butt ton.

    and it takes 10 butt tons to equal 1 shitton.

    So many buttloads would it take to equal 1 shitton

    That's not logic — it's math.

    Wtf do you think logic is(besides the art of argument which uses mathematics to prove a statement)..

    3=1
    (4=1) = 4*3 = 12
    (10=1) = 10*12 = 120

    A study of marital relationships in which one partner's sleeping and waking cycles differ from those of the other partner reveals that such couples share fewer activities with each other and have more violent arguments than do couples in a relationship in which both partners follow the same sleeping and waking patterns. Thus, mismatched sleeping and waking cycles can seriously jeopardize a marriage.

    Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the argument above?

    (A) Married couples in which both spouses follow the same sleeping and waking patterns also occasionally have arguments that can jeopardize the couple's marriage.
    (B) The sleeping and waking cycles of individuals tend to vary from season to season.
    (C) The individuals who have sleeping and waking cycles that differ significantly from those of their spouses tend to argue little with colleagues at work.
    (D) People in unhappy marriages have been found to express hostility by adopting a different sleeping and waking cycle from that of their spouses.
    (E) According to a recent study, most people's sleeping and waking cycles can be controlled and modified easily.

    =======================================================
    Is the above question logic, math, or both?

    All they have to do is sleep in separate bedrooms.

    Wrong. The credited response is (D). The argument is flawed because it assumes the mismatched sleeping and waking cycles cause marital discord but fails to consider the possibility that marital discord may cause people to adopt different sleeping cycles from their estranged significant other so as to avoid him/her.

    There is no mathematics involved in the solution.

    Define that X = Y = 1
    Therefore:
    X = Y^2

    Subtract 1 from both sides
    X -1 = Y^2 - 1

    Taking the difference of two perfect squares
    X - 1 = (Y-1)(Y+1)

    Since X - 1 = Y - 1, they cancel
    1 = Y+1

    And since Y = 1
    1 = 1 + 1 = 2

    Therefore 1 = 2

    What is wrong?

    In the sanitation industry we refer to this as engineering, not logic.

    X=1 and Y=1

    therefore x = 1 = y =1

    ergo 1 ^2 = 1

    3 BL = 1 SL
    4 SL = 1 BT
    10 BT = 1 ST

    ? BL = 1 ST

    4(3 BL) = 1 BT
    12 BL = 1 BT

    10 (12 BL) = 1 ST

    120 BL = 1 ST

    1 shitton = 120 buttloads.

    Wrap a string around the earth at the equator and pull it tight. Then add 1 foot to the length of the string. What will be the gap between the string and the earth due to the extra foot of string [assuming the gap is even all the way around the earth].

    If things expand when they get hot, and contract when they get cold, then why does water expand when it freezes?
