Was having a couple of beers the other day down at my favourite watering hole, the Fishhead Hotel, when in swaggers Long John Silver, complete with walking stick, parrot on his shoulder squawking the fark out of everything...
Under his arm is a "For Sale" sign....
I says to the crusty ol' seadog...
    "Whats the sign for John...."
    He says:
"Matey...Im rooted....absolutely rooted....the carbon tax has totally buggered me...Im selling my fishing
trawler and going to live in Majorca......"
"Whats happening..." I said...thinking...how can the carbon tax effect fishing....????
    He says:
"Well matey....it used to cost me $12210 to refill my boat with refrigeration coolant, but now with the carbon tax
its going to cost me $42,315
I was stunned...this means that if the average re-fill time for a refrigeration unit is about five years, everyone
who owns a fishing trawler will be up for this cost in five years at the most....he's right...the fishing industry
    is knackered....
    BUT WAIT THERES MORE....
What about every other industry which uses refrigeration units....well....there must be one or two...!!!
that use the most common coolant (R507)...this coolant is going up by between 57% and 300% because
of the carbon tax....(details extracted from webpage of Warren Entsch, Federal Member for Leichhardt.....)

I guess in a few years we'll be buying all our fish from the slimy rivers of Vietnam or Thailand.....

    Aaaah well....she'll be right mate....

These gases are thousands of times more potent than Co2, but aren't there cheaper options and is this price being exagerated?

Truthwanker, you'd support the carbon tax and hippo hips Gillard even if we were all living in tents and we were all stoney broke...you just refuse to concede anything about this tax or this pathetic excuse for a government....

hahahaha......why not concede that it isn't going to be as bad as what it is made out to be. What else have you got in your bag of tricks to surprise us with. We know you've got BS in there, but surely you've got something a bit more substantial.................just kidding magoo. It is a bit concerning but surely it's not as bad as that!

Could you give us a quote on the effect the carbon tax will have on a can of baked beans, for example?

I think you forgot to factor in the label, and the beans. I can just picture the advert to sell these baked beans, "Don`t worry about these beans making you fart, you`re gonna sh!t yourself when you see the price!".

See, there is an answer to every problem. Beans are cheaper then gas so buy beans and create your own gas.

This fisherman if he exists is as big a fool as anyone who listens to the clap trap garbage that comes from the doomsday sooth sayers aka radio shock jocks.

You are absolutely right dominor, these guys seem to be extremely influenced by these outlets that would appear to be in "their" eyes as having: "NO VESTED INTEREST". It is wreaks of gullibility and naivety. Really, no one in their right minds these days should allow the media to hoodwink them. Once again, "Good News" is "No News" to these guys.
