And your claim that Garland is taking marching orders from the WH also does not make it true.

You've made the claim/assumption that any contact between the WH and the DOJ is just the WH telling Garland to "get Trump" because you can't think of any reason for the DOJ and WH to be in contact about Trump other than that. I was providing, from personal experience, a reason that a subordinate would contact a superior that does not involve "getting marching orders"

My claim has been that Garland was a political appointee of Biden. He reports to Biden and it's not to discuss the weather. It's naive of you to claim that a political appointee will not be leaning in the same political Party as that of who appointed him.

 

The AG doesn’t “report” to the President. It’s traditionally an autonomous position. Just because Trump and Barr bastardized what had been normal doesn’t mean that is the way the President/AG relationship works.

 

And it's an assumption on your part that the reason Trump has been indicted is because of politics and not simply because the evidence shows he should be indicted.

I'm not guessing; traditionally the AG, while a member of the President's cabinet has operated independently of Presidential influence. But, in researching this topic, I can see your confusion. There are many articles that decry Presidential influence on the DOJ and they are ALL (that I found) talking about the inappropriate relationship of Donald Trump and William Barr.

When President Biden appointed AG Garland he made it a point that DOJ and AG independence would be restored during his administration. Donald Trump's biggest goal is to break traditional norms of OUR Federal Government so that HE can f"ix it". Unfortunately he wants to "fix it" by making himself an autonomous Dick-tator.
