Mine is for the only two women whom I've loved, and who have loved me, and my son and daughter; everybody else I've been involved with, past and present, has been or is an acquaintance.
Rather a strange sort of statement. 1. Family 2. Freinds 3. Acquaintances Cultural differences and Religious or Philosophical beliefs determines love also a Philosophical point of view. Example: Freinds are few, acquaintances legion.
The most pure version of the stuff, IMO, is the love of a parent for his/her child. But even this, when you break it down, is simply survival. All of it is.
I don't know what you find 'strange' about it at all; I love my nearest and dearest?? Indeed, you seem to acknowledge that in your final sentence, in that I only have friends - very few I'll readily admit, but that's how I want it.
Actually he is, though there is no "Other" involved. Trump loves himself so completely there is no room for anyone else. I imagine even his sons are included in this, Melania certainly is as his affairs indicate.
I'll take a crack at it, love is not something you can describe with a bland statement, there are many different kinds... from all consuming passionate and possessive, a deep slow burn, sometimes filled with warmth and caring in friendship.... to self sacrificing for a child...I'm sure there are more... love is... essential, it is food for your soul but need not always be everlasting. Love makes you feel alive in a similar way adrenalin makes you feel alive... love makes memories deeper and more memorable. Love can hurt you... make you feel like there's a hole in your chest.. yep had that too but not over a man... Without love you are incomplete... to love is to live.
For some reason that makes me recall a remark made by my son's (at the time) father-in-law to me during a family celebration on the birth of my and his grandson: it went something like this: 'You must be pleased it's a boy, Cerb.' 'Why do you say that?' 'Well, your name will be carried on?' I was too polite to ask why on earth I should care about that.
Love is nothing more than a chemical reaction that is no different from that of being high - external stimulis may trigger our brain to produce oxytocine and dompamine and this will make us feel happy or "in love". These chemicals can be triggered by anything from a person's laughter or their smile to the way they walk and is thus not necessarily connected to sexual attraction. Rpmantic attraction or "love" can even be triggered by a piece of candy or a zip of Pepsi.
It always feels nice explaining these kind of phenomenons with spiirituality and magic because it gives you standards to live after and goals to strive for. If there is nothing higher than nature, life may feel empty and unnecessary. I understand that and have the deepest respect for people who believe in something higher than biology. Unfortunately, I am a rather anthropocentric person who likes the simple expanations to life. It is not that I don't believe in love, but trying to be all philosophical and deep about a very simple matter is just not my cup of tea. Yes, I have been in love and I know how it feels. I have been on a roller-coaster too and I have had ice cream on the first of summer break as a child. As a dedicated soccer-fan, I have experienced "my team" win important titles - bio-chemically speaking they are all the same darn thing. Wait. Did I just compare a mother's love for her child to having a piece of cake? Yes, I did!
Nature is only in the third level of heaven. Jesus said, "If heaven is in the sky, then the birds are before you." Since God created everything that exists, and since the "God particle" is in everything that exists.....God is in everything, and everything is in God. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows” (2nd Cor 12:2) In the Second Book of Enoch, Enoch travels through the seven heavens and gives geographical and visual documentation of them, describing houses, olive oil and flowers. He passes through the Garden of Eden in the Third Heaven on his way to meet the Lord in the 7th Heaven.[18] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Heavens
