French President Emmanuel Macron announced strong measures to combat a new wave of COVID-19 infections and allow a safe reopening. Those who refuse to be vaccinated will not be able to go to public places. “This time you are staying at home, not us”, the president said during a message.

During the message that Macron addressed to the French he announced that the health passport will become essential for various public activities. The document, which is currently required in large crowds, such as stadiums, will gain prominence.

By August this health passport will be required in cafes, restaurants, trains, bars, buses and airplanes.

this is the correct response of a free people to an epidemic. no one has a constitutional right, or a natural right, to infect others.

 

The French people are not reacting kindly to the new COVID fear tactics.

I agree with both of your points however going into crowded places where you could spread a deadly virus is different.
A little analogy, I smoke and defend my right to do so but I fully understand and approve of rules which prevent me going into pubs and other public places. I have the right to harm myself but I don't have the right to harm others with my second hand smoke.

 

I too smoke, and I wear the mask in enclosed spaces...early on I found I could have a bit of fun with the mask on, particularly in the presence of pretty women.

I like not having to shave regularly.
I still wear a mask in shops etc even though I'm no longer required to do so. Thankfully just about everyone else is still doing so too. Mask wearing never became such a politically polarised issue here in the UK. Same with climate change, you can't tell someone's position just by knowing which party they voted for. Even our Conservative PM is an environmentalist.
