I wasn't talking about where you lived in your political head-space. I was talking about where you live physically which I'm guessing is Australia or New Zealand? I could be wrong about that, maybe you're in the UK or Canada? In any case, California, as it is now, in terms of enacted policy is to the right of any of those nations.

    Irrelevant.

In AMERICA, California sells itself as a Leftiest state in the nation, and the lemmings vote with that in mind. They vote in the expectation of equality and social security.

So help me understand how a state claiming the most Leftiness, is actually the least equal and has the greatest wealth divide? States not claiming any kind of Leftiness, often have considerably more equality and much smaller wealth divides, so this question needs answering.

Mainly just because it has more people than any other state.

    I disagree.

Nope socially liberal maybe but pretty centrist on the whole. It's the rest of the country that paints it as leftist. In fact, sometimes, anything that doesn't comport to their worldview is seen as pinko, commie scum. Kind of a throwback to the 1950s really. I'm surprised anybody can really remember that far.

Bit rude to call our population lemmings. That would be the population that built the 6th largest economy on earth. The seat of some of the finest universities in the world attended by an international student body. Home to some of the greatest advances in medicine, avionics, space exploration, tech, music, film-making. Do you want me to stop there?

Hope and expectation aren't the same thing in politics.

You made the claim. Figure it out for yourself.

California is huge. It's almost a nation state in itself there are huge differences from north to south. It has all the problems of any other nation states but there can also be huge benefits to living here. It's not all hugely expensive but like anywhere else in the world the major cities do have a wealth divide. As I said, it's still a market economy. If you want a communist utopia, I'm afraid you're going to have to look somewhere else.

I believe I have worked it out, thanks.

Your reluctance to admit that the Leftiest state is the worst possible state for the working and middle classes (the very people the Left USED to stand for), tells me almost as much as the flamingly obvious truth.

    So, I'm genuinely curious.

Do you really not know all the negatives, or do you just cherry pick facts that support your agenda and willingly ignore the rest?

Research cost of living, wealth inequality, purchasing power, tax rates, etc.

Of course. Holding feet to the fire is my game.

Progressives need to be held accountable.

Hmm, not wanting to accept responsibility, wanting to keep pushing the same policies while refusing to recognize what those policies have already done.

Well, if you relish true accountability, why don't you move to one of the actual communist utopias you presumably admire and mount your campaign against us from the within the integral boundaries of your own didact?

Assuming you can find an internet connection.

My point was that you are a communist but haven't done anything to take yourself out of a nice, cushy country like Australia or New Zealand (which is, I guess, where you live) but you have the audacity to come on here berating Californians (who aren't even claiming to be "commies" like you) for allegedly doing the exact same thing.

I've always had a difficulty spelling that hypocrisy word.

    Thank goodness for spellcheck!

What do you think a communist is, FFS?

A communist is a collectivist, not a totalitarian. If somone you know has convinced you that totalitarianism is somehow communism, you need to find new friends.

Sure they are .. just a different kind than religious collectivists .. tribal collectivists .. or todays extreme left collectivists..

Your definition of collectivism must be flawed.

There is nothing collectivist about those totalitarian regimes. A collective is VOLUNTARY, always. And it also has number limits. Beyond a certain number and it's no longer a collective .. it's a massive underclass in service to an elite.

I believe your confusion is in thinking that totalitarian regimes practising "communism" were actually collectivists.

I'm not into totalitarianism. Nor state socialism, nor any other oligarchy-driven creation of a dependent underclass.

No I was wondering why the "communist" who's living in Australia or New Zealand isn't?
