Marjorie Taylor Greene. If I had been in charge of the insurrection, we would have WON!

A couple of days ago at a Republican meeting, Marjorie Taylor Green said that "if she had been in charge of the January 6th Insurrection, we would have won!"

As such, it is clearly evident that she called January 6th an "insurrection" and given that she would have been willing to be in charge of an insurrection, it clearly suggests that she supports such an act that would destroy our Democracy.



It is hard to believe that there is a person out there in a position of some power within the Republican party that is willing to take us down the road of insurrection and destroy everything our forefathers built and put forth in the Constitution.

The worst thing about all of this, is the fact that she is not the only one that is pushing for our Democracy to end. In addition to Taylor Greene's statement, Trump called for "some parts of the Constitution should be terminated", which clearly makes the GOP party look like a party that wants to end Democracy and put an Aristocracy in place.

Is that what the Republican party now stands for? Is that what you want to see happen?

 

Folks, Don't take OP's bait. MTG says stupid stuff all of the time, just like AOC. One huge difference. They'll defend AOC with their lives and we could care less about MTG's antics. Notice his last comment. Supposedly, based on what SHE (one person said), it is now what "the repbulican party now stans for"
I find this a shameful tactic and I hope the rest of you are smart enough to see through this nonsense as I am.

 

We know how the extreme right loves this type of language. We've heard it before from Sara Palin, Ann Coulter, Donald Trump.... It draws the attention of MAGA-extremists for a while. But MAGA-extremists have a short attention span and the claim fame these characters enjoy soon evaporates.

 

Another difference: AOC just says things you disagree with. Marjorie Taylor Greene says things that appeal to MAGA-extremists but are universally rejected and condemned by everybody else.

It so happens that this was not just MTG. Trump did say a few days ago that he believes some parts of the Constitution should be terminated and his comments did have support from several members of Congress.

In addition, a large portion of Republicans in Congress have not repudiated (but supported) what happened on January 6th. This is not a shameful tactic but plain cold hard facts that some people (like you) are turning a blind eye to. Face it, the Republican party is supporting the extreme right and the extreme right favors insurrection and a take over of our Democracy (Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, etc).

You state that MTG says stupid stuff but if you see the video enclosed, you will see that what she said was at a public meeting and she got a big round of applause from the audience. As such, she was not only saying it but was strongly supported by those there.

 

Some people gave applause? That seals the deal! This is now what the republican party stands for JUST BECAUSE OF THAT.

Bottom line is that as you suggested in your first post, this is not just one stupid women that supports this type of action but many do. It is as simple as that. In addition, the amount of people that attacked the Capitol on January 6th was not one person or even a few hundred, but thousands that supported taking our government over and destroying our Democracy.

Do I actually have to point this out to you?

 

AOC has never supported an insurrection or a destruction of our Democracy.

 

We have already agreed that Marjorie Taylor's statement is outright CRAZY.

You cannot quote any "craziness" from AOC. You may quote something you disagree with. You might even point to something I disagree with.

Good! There are crazy people on the left too. There might be one almost as crazy as MTG. But if you're going to compare ANY of them with the nut, you'll have to start with quotes. Like the OP provided.

 

If anyone had been in charge of an "insurrection" on J6 it would probably have succeeded. There was no significant security barrier present around or in the Capitol capable of impeding an armed attack on the legislative branch

The DOJ/FBI/J6 Committee et al should have investigated that odd security lapse long ago.
IOW, national security is clearly not a high priority for our corrupt bipartisan ruling political class. Alas.

Yes, and AOC is one of the very few Members of Congress, that actually denounced the "security" around the Capitol for directing protestors into the Capitol building.

Yep. There certainly are folks on the left that are just as crazy . . . but I can't think of any on the left who are currently occupying public office after advocating the armed overthrow of our government.

IOW, there was no insurrection, and certainly no armed insurrection.

I do not mind debating this issue with you. The pics you offer are not of people trying to change the Constitution or change the government. They will not have any effect on our way of life.

This OP is about a group trying to bring down our Constitution and our way of government. What you are showing is just a simple riot where many people got together to protest an injustice that was done to them. BIG DIFFERENCE.
