Baltimore Ravens (home team) made it finally, they took out the thorn in their ass from last year the patriots.

It is going to be a good game, Ray is retiring so this was his retirement gift by his fellow team mates. I think they will win, I just hate that the team color is purple, a girls color.

Everyone is healthy, and it is time the Ravens take over because the Redskins never got their act together to represent the home state since the last time they were there.

Hope the 49ers win. The murderer (conspirator) Ray Lewis should be regarded as well as the dog molester Michael Vick. The reason why Philadelphia cut off Donovan McNabb (a class act despite some poor performances in the playoffs) to support Vick still eludes me. McNabb might have had a John Elway comeback if the Philadelphia Eagles had stuck with him. They didn't. When Ray Lewis retires, I might again wish the Baltimore Ravens well.

This could be the least watched super bowl in history. Not many want to see two brothers get all kissy face with each other on the football field. It's like seeing the Manning's in the super bowl, no matter who wins it's a Manning. I'll have to rent a movie if there isn't one on HBO.

Should the Ravens win, expect to see me flaunt and gloat tremendously.

Maybe, but nobody can deny Joe Flacco was quite impressive this season.

I don't know who to root for, but I'm glad the Patriots didn't make it again. I don't care if they're good. I don't like seeing the same teams make the championship again and again, no matter what sport we're talking about. Not to mention, as a Colts fan, I don't like them in general. Well, I honestly would prefer the Rams or Chiefs if they could do better, but oh well. The way they played this past year, I have high hopes my Rams can finally be a playoff contender again, come next year, as will the Colts. I'm not too sure on the Chiefs though.

Being from NE, I am a Pats fan and have lived through ups and downs. They once again went to a conservative game mgmt plan on a game which had barely begun. They deserved to be beat and it's tough for me to say that

I say good luck to the Ravens and sending their co-capt to retirement with a ring would be a nice send off.

Since free-agency started, I've been a free agent fan. I owe loyalty to the Carolina Panthers because they're the home team, but beyond that I like many different teams depending on their story line or certain individuals that coach or play for the teams. I like the pats because of bill belichek, the man's a Genius. I've been a Jim Harbaugh fan since he played for the colts in the championship game against the steelers, with a broke finger. That was a very gutsy performance by Harbaugh. After reading about his brother John's struggles in the coaching field I can safely say I'm a John Harbaugh fan as well. Ever since Jim started coaching for the 49ers I've been waiting on this game. I have a brother and dearly love him, and I'm very close to him, but the chance to play against him in the superbowl, would be a dream come true. It would be difficult, I would want to win, but I would want my brother to win as well, so the dynanmics in that game would be atronomical. As a parent now of 2 very close brothers, I can only imagine what they're going through.

As for my prediction, I'm pulling for John, but I believe Jim has the better team. But the beauty of it it, I LOVE DEFENSE!! I played MLB, so I love watching the defense, and trying to think through the offense. So hopefully if I have my way about it the game will look like a baseball score, the turf will be destroyed and numbers illegible between the 40's and the punts will outweigh the first downs.

I'm now a colts fan, since manning left. I really like luck, I believe he's a good kid. As far as the Pats go, if my panthers can't make it, I wish the pats would win every superbowl. I love when a team has quality on their side because it raises the level of play around the league and in their division. As they say to be the best you gotta beat the best. Having said that, it appears the pats have fallen off in recent years. I'm not sure whats happened, but knowing belichek, he should be back.

Being a defensive minded guy and having to really critique offensive players, I can say that Joe flacco flew under the radar for me, until my dad, who is an offensive minded guy told me about flacco, many years ago, and ever since then I have been a flacco fan. Although I also like Ray Rice. I'm always a fan of small guys. I was a very undersized mlb, so I can relate to being outsized by everybody around me and hurting after every game.

You must not have a brother that you're close to, and you probably aren't a parent of two close brothers. Being both, I'm stoked!!

Ugh.. I guess likes can have comments, but I wanted to avoid being off-topic. I agree with you liking the Colts now that Manning's gone. I mean, I was a Colts fan beforehand, but there (occasionally?) comes a time when a player becomes too much of liability for the team he's on. I feel Manning had reached that point and while I didn't want to see him go or retire, he just had to go. I wish him luck on the Broncos in years to come.

If you are a football "purist" this should be a great game.

Two solid defenses and two good, if conservative, offenses.

I hate the Ravens because they play my Steelers twice a year.
I have no feelings about the niners one way or the other.

I will root for the ravens ( a little) because the AFC north is where real football is played.

I was raised as a colts fan. My father was Baltimore Colts fan, and I grew up when they had Bert Jones, and down here, anytime they came on TV it was a special time in my household, of course later on I decided to get my own team, and went with the washington redskins. The Redskins were practically a home team around here. For some reason, the redskins have a dominant fanbase in the Carolinas. But, when the Panthers came, I instantly became a fan. I used to go watch them play in clemson, and they practiced at the local college around here. The college that they practiced at didn't even have a foorball team so they practiced on the soccer field. I met every player on that first year team, and Sam Mills will always be my favorite football player. I met him so much he got to know me by name. I was nobody special, just a fan, but him and brett maxie treated me like I was their #1 fan. I wish every football fan could have that experience.

Is anyone else getting poor reception of the super bowl, it just started showing shadows in the second quarter.

looks like they fixed it, it was in High Definition for some reason for a few minutes then it switched back.

Lets make that twice, the 109 all time record return and the previous reception. Guy is an MVP

28 to 6 third quarter, I'm calling it. Ravens Win. They covered the Spread, any Bets are good for the win.

I was hoping this would be a good game, but I never dreamed both teams would literally play lights-out!

Good game. Congrats to the Ravens and their fans.

Just gotta love New Orleans. Is it true that when the lights went out, 5 thousand fans were mugged?

    :giggle: jk, jk

I turned it off after the lights went out, but heard the 49 ers made a come back but still lost.

They lost momentum after that drive and the lights going off, almost lost money hope that wasn't staged.

Over 100,000 people flooded downtown and the stadium to see the victory parade. It was very enthusiastic to say the least, too bad traffic down there is absolutely horrendous.
