The headline: Mass Shooting at Texas Home Leaves at Least Five Dead The link: Mass Shooting at Texas Home Leaves at Least Five Dead (newsweek.com) The lede: "Five people have been killed, including an eight-year-old child, in a mass shooting that took place at a property in Cleveland, eastern Texas. The news was confirmed to Newsweek by San Jacinto County Sheriffs Office, who said the suspect is still at large and being hunted by officers." The comment: Guns in the news. Again. Once again our social programs, our laws and our level of law enforcement was unable to avert these killings. Deaths from gunshot, based upon data for 2020, occur roughly every 12 minutes in the United States of America.* Roughly 110-120 people will also die from gunshot today in the United States of America. The level of deaths by gunshot in the United States ranks high against other modern democracies. Guns in the news. Again. Stay safe 'n well 'n un-shot. * Ref: Gun deaths in the U.S.: 10 key questions answered | Pew Research Center
Social Programs, Laws, Law Enforcement, of course they can't stop such violence. There is constant violence, murder, abuse, and more in the majority of the Entertainment business' products and the News' published stories in of the USA. The more people are exposed to it, the more it motivates and teaches them. Along with all of the unhealthy foods, and the money chasing health programs pushing medications, there is much that has an impact on people's chemistry, emotions, and perceptions. Removing guns isn't the answer. I don't like them, and seeing people shoot up Bud Light with automatic weapons is proof that they are more than just for defense.... The best way to calm down the hate and violence is to place the responsibility where it belongs, on the unfiltered constant exposure from Entertainment and News, and strongly bring back true teachings of peaceful, loving mentors including the true teachings of Jesus. I really wish there would be a tax put onto any business or organization that makes money off of violent and hate filled products....
If not guns then bombs. Suicidal people who want to take others out with them will find ways to do just that.
and what is really stupid is the lazy solutions that anti gunners post such as pretending gun bans will stop this.
Instant gratification tends to be the left's stock in trade. banning guns is the instant gratification response to these issues
They refuse to accept their children are the ones doing the killings so they find the need to blame the gun so the focus is taken off them and their children. The law is now rightfully focusing on the parents.
Nothing can stop every murder. In most cases however removing the gun from the situation will at least cut down on the casualties if not stop the killing completely.
I do get tired of the pavlovian response-ban guns ban guns ban guns, every time there is one of these statistically rare incidents btw the thread proves what I have said and belies what people on your side have said. it's the anti gunners who see these incidents as helpful to their jihad against gun rights
the normal attitude is to ban guns or to propose idiotic suggestions (such as demanding someone get a full psychiatric evaluation before being issued a license to own a gun-which is a de facto attempt to ban gun buying)
yeah we can start with the store that McVeigh shopped at oh BP Oil, TEXACO, MARATHON would work-a guy used a DOLLAR worth of gas in 1995 to commit a mass murder that was way ahead of even the Las vegas record for victims
If People had not been present, no murder would have been committed. How about dealing with reality rather than pretending something that you cannot prevent would have existed. Why do I get the feeling that your real issue is banning guns rather than stopping murder?
