[Medishield-life] I really wish responsible people could do IPPT and get a discount.

Already haf the IPPT option, with fitness grade given until 79yrs, but don't have the $500 incentive to get gold.

Actually, gahmen should allow screening test, IPPT(age-specific physical fitness test) test score to be added to receive up to 80% discount from medishield-life premiums because 80% or more of such serious conditions like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, cancers are significantly linked to unhealthy lifestyles which is also manifested as high %body fat and poor physical fitness.

People who are unfit (like TS with likely very bad medical health screening results (legs so bui)) are highly likely to make high and premature claims and thus should pay much higher premiums commensurate with claims risk based upon bad screening results (glucose, bp, cholesterol, %body fat all off the charts, smoke cigarettes and fail IPPT miserably for instance): they will not get any medishield-life premiums discount but someone with a stellar score will get 80% discount off premiums to reward for not clogging up hospital beds and requiring sponge baths (KKWCH says that actually costs S$24.70/bath https://www.reddit.com/r/singapore/comments/8x6g8b/visitor_upset_at_host_of_extras_in_kkh_bill/ ). Staying fit also involves costs and even SAFRA energyone gym membership costs up to $963 p.a. http://www.safra.sg/enjoy/energyone-gyms/memberships-fees.aspx

By making smokers and non-smokers pay the same medishield-life premiums , MOH is really causing non-smokers unnecessary financial stress (encourage them to start smoking as stress relief option) and normalizing/ promoting smoking as a social habit in Singapore (usual smoker's premiums surcharge waived).

Medishield-life premiums discount : healthy lifestyle and fitness criteria will make true health a priority and make Singaporeans as eager to stay healthy as they are eager to buy private property or employ multiple tuition teachers to lecture their kids (if at least to obtain 80% discount off medishield-life premiums (40% discount based on health screening results, 40% based on age specific IPPT result)).

People who are born handicapped or have proven physical handicapp precluding the efficient conduct of physical fitness test (e.g. Blind (although there are paralympic swimming events for blind athletes too)) can be exempt and the discount weightage be placed on other evaluatable components like blood pressure, glucose, %body fat, cholesterol etc).

(20% premiums are still payable to show solidarity and for unavoidable physical accident risks as well as to subsidize the claims for those with congenital illnesses being admitted to hospital (downs syndrome, glycogen storage diseases, thalassemia, hemophilia etc).

PAP needs to really promote health rather than just repeatedly create new extortionary insurance scam schemes and jailing people who fail to comply to their ill-conceived, unfair, unjust hoax 'insurance' schemes which are actually just poll taxes/ hospitalization bulk purchase plans disguised as true unavoidable catastrophe illness insurance plans as misrepresented to the masses (which yields unsatisfactory results like high diabetes prevalence, increased hospital admissions and high hospitalization costs).

There needs to be a paradigm shift in the importance of fitness and health if Singaporeans are to remain independent in their twilight years without the need for hospitalization or complex medical intervention and the attendant high treatment costs.

High extrinsic regressive poll taxes like medishield-life need to be balanced with high extrinsic motivation factors like premium discounts for good health screening results and good physical fitness test scores for best overall national healthcare policy outcome results.
