    One of the things I liked about Michelle, was the fact that she put her whole heart into being First Lady, even when there were times when it must have been difficult for her to do. That's part of what First Lady's do, at least the good First Lady's.

    It was more like a little acknowledging tap...IMO Melania just doesn't think hand holding and international diplomacy go well together, and I tend to agree.

    Been married for over 40 years and we still hold hands.

    That Melania refused to hold Trump's hand is significant. She refused to live in the Whitehouse as well. These are signs that not all is well with their marriage.

    Can't be easy for her being married to the laughingstock of the entire world and having to explain to her son why that is the case.

    Politicians are ALWAYS thinking about their image in public. Just like that stupid little trick of pointing into the audience as if you see someone you know, it tends to connect them to the audience in the view of onlookers. You also have the infamous incident where Bill Clinton was just chatting and having a casual laugh at the Ron Brown funeral. He sees a video camera zoomed in on him and turns on the waterworks, on cue. Hilarious. Psychologists liken them to superheros with secret identities.

    The image of the happy family is key, yet I am sure the stress of pretending all the time can take a toll. Trump just telegraphs all of this as a political neophyte.

    I think Melania has contempt for Trump.. and I don't know how she could be otherwise. His revelations about women are repulsive coming from an adult who has daughters. If my husband ever said the things that Trump has said, I too would be repulsed by him.
