When I lived in Bangkok we had a katoey living in the same apartment complex as the wife and me. Nice guy and we went to see the Miss Katoey contest that year in Bangkok. Now we are back in the states, the wife's hair dresser is a Thai that once was a Katoey. He has pictures in his salon when he was younger, pretty good looker then.

If one judges people by their character and not by their skin color, religion or even sexual orientation, Adam and the fellow that lived in our apartment complex in Bangkok were two of the nicest people I ever met.

 

To determine sex I suppose we need to check chromosomes. Some people are intergendered, we know that now. So we know we have male, female and intergendered humans.

But I think the hang ups we do have in America originate from the Christian religion and specifically the Puritans.

It was pretty much the Puritans who ahd the strictes taboos on gender and gender roles and identity.

Most people don't really understand the huge influence religion really does have on us here in America, religious or naught.

 

I never really thought about the influence of religion. But I think you have a valid point. Western cultures seems to get hung up on sex more than the other cultures, as a general rule I mean.

 

Someone who looks womanly in every sense of the word but happens to have a penis does not suddenly shut down all of the normal attraction a straight man will feel towards her just by having a penis.

Your conception of sexual orientation is narrow and uninformed. "Gay with really bad taste" is what I would be if I was attracted to you, not a woman who was born with a penis.

There's an ordered list of things that make me attracted to people, and their genitals are not nearly at the top of the list. If a woman has wide hips, a narrow waist, a plethora of other feminine features, I'm going to be attracted to them far before I see them naked. Same with men and masculine features. If they don't have the equipment I expect downstairs, why does that suddenly invalidate their masculinity or femininity? They still have all of those features.

No, it is still applicable.

The problem is that it is a different thing than being attracted to transgendered women and that it is actually something that is ahrd to define, because many people are confused as to what is actually being attracted to.

like those women in the pictures for example. They are attractive women.

So what is it that is really being attracted to?

Some people are attracted to them, but, it is sometimes a mixed bag and is not really as simple as it seems.

What are we discussing here? There's a difference between acknowledging someone is attractive and having sex with them.

If they're simply attracted to a man that looks like a girl then they're still attracted to females they just got tricked.

If, however, it starts to go further and he pulls up his skirt and his dick falls out and the other guy drops to his knees and starts sucking it or bends him over and starts having sex with them... then he's gay... or bisexual.
