Baloney. Even if drugs were legalized people would still be buying drugs from scum like this because they would sell them for less. You can never stop drug use but you would have even more people addicted to drugs if they were legalized.
There is nothing cheaper than mass produced pharmaceutical drugs. The raw materials and processing for potato chips cost FAR more than the raw materials and processing for illegal drugs (and most legal drugs as well), Heroin and morphine cost a fraction of a dollar per shot. Speed is so dirt cheap its hard to describe how little the pills cost to make - a penny per pill is way too much. Marijuana is a weed, and small grower farms produce enough top-quality weed for HUNDREDS of users to stay permanently stoned. Toss some seeds in the corner of your lawn will give you and your neighbors a nice crop of reasonable strength to smoke, once you learn which sex of the plants to harvest. There is no gang that could or would even bother to sell drugs with the tine profit they could make, even with reasonable government taxes on them. THe black market in alcohol and cigs is a trivial financial source for gangs. The gangs would no longer be able to out-arm and out-equip themselves over the law and the bribes to corrupt our drug officials could only be very small.
I wouldn't be surprised if the people who mutilated the poor dog were registered Democrats. That's the type of behavior they're known for.
Right.... I don't know about drug issues across the boarder. They are for sure complex. But I've sat and chuckled for years about how the US doesn't have the very simplest of solutions in place for US pot growers. Instead of spending billions on law enforcement, just spend a couple million on crop dusters. Simply manufure a few tons of male pollen for the hemp ditch plant of the Midwest. Spray that pollen all over suspected grow areas and you've deluted those strains by half. In two or three years time you can turn the entire US dope crop into rope that wouldn't get a flea high. Problem solved on the cheap. I can't stand animal abusers and if there's an afterlife, those drug smugglers will have to be surgically implanted with a ton of those drugs each; over and over and over.
