I've never done Microwave Popcorn, but the world and for sure the U.S. has this addiction.....all for convenience. Listen to the Video. https://www.clearstateofmind.com/yb...ff_sub4=&utm_content=video_tst210_variation_1
anything oil last that long is seed oil https://chriskresser.com/how-industrial-seed-oils-are-making-us-sick/ "In 1870s Cincinnati, two soapmakers—William Procter and James Gamble—decided to enter into business together. While soap had historically been made from rendered pork fat, Procter and Gamble were an innovative pair and decided to create a new type of soap from vegetable oils. Around the same time, oil was discovered in Pennsylvania; it quickly displaced cottonseed oil, which had long been used for lighting, as a fuel source. Cottonseed oil was consigned to the status of “toxic waste” until the enterprising Procter & Gamble realized that all that unwanted cottonseed oil could be used to produce soap. But there was another plus that appealed to their business sensibilities: the oil could be chemically altered via a process called “hydrogenation” to turn it into a solid cooking fat that resembled lard. That’s how an oil formerly classified as “toxic waste” became an integral part of the American diet when Crisco was introduced to the market in the early 1900s. (1)"
cause it never goes bad, it's like a twinky course there is a reason it never goes bad.... and that is not good
This video attributes popcorn's problematic element to a flavoring, used to make it taste more buttery: diacetyl, which they say crosses the blood- brain barrier, and can lead to the formation of beta amyloid plaques. I have also heard that microwave popcorn is bad, because of some lubricating substance that is used to keep the popcorn from sticking to the inside of the bag.
I heard that diacetyl could cause popcorn lung, never heard about the brain issues - sounds like a bad substance though and the lubricating substance I would assume is industrial seed oils
I think I have mentioned this to you, in the past, but a concern of mine with cottonseed oil, is that cotton is a crop that is treated with an inordinate amount of pesticide: a full one quarter of all U.S. agricultural pesticides. These pesticides leave a residue, no doubt, on the seeds. The oil from those seeds is extracted, using solvents, which it seems reasonable to expect, will also remove those pesticides, along with the oil, from the solid mass, of the seeds. This would therefore concentrate those pesticides (since the mass of the oil alone, will be less than that of the seed, with its oil). Cottonseed oil causes gastric distress, for sensitive individuals, but at least one's digestive system can pass some of those poisons, out of the system. The problem is that cottonseed oil has been used in drugs intended for intramuscular INJECTION, which the FDA has approved, nonetheless. Used this way, those toxins cannot be cleansed, by one's digestive system. I have checked with one such product, and found that the oil is not purified, to remove these pesticide residues. Here is the information sheet, from U.S. Pharmacopeia, a supplier of this cottonseed oil. Note, near the top, under "Recommended restrictions," it says, "Not for use as a drug. Not for administration to humans or animals." And yet, it is the medium used, as the major component, for testosterone cypionate, for injection. Unfortunately, one is not well-served, by simply trusting that the FDA will have our back.
I am not disagreeing with you, like a twinkie, I have no idea what all they put in microwave popcorn to make it shelf stable for so long
I'm just suggesting, there might be numerous health concerns, with microwave popcorn. P.S.-- and I never thought you were acting, "like a twinkie."
I made a small amount of popcorn yesterday, oils I use are Olive Oil and some Coconut Oil, I like to mix oils and added some dashes of Stevia for sweet and sea salt for salty, a kettle corn type popcorn is the result...
When I eat popcorn, it is usually the white cheddar pre-popped bag kind. I am not a huge popcorn fan though.
I'm not a huge fan for junk foods NOW, but popcorn is higher fiber content and I go after fiber rich foods.
~ Popped corn is indeed high in fiber — and carbohydrates. They should include a roll of TP with every package
Depends on the person James CA, many with constipation issues are truly helped...And a lot of other high fiber foods they most likely NEED....for this constitutions....
yeah, a study showed there was less constipation with a carnivore diet, seems it's not all as clear as just eat fiber fiber is good for ones gut bacteria, but don't over do it https://www.thecarnivoredietcoach.com/news/fibre-essential-human-diet
~ Psyllium fiber . Very good for the intestinal flora. Coffee also helps many. A magnesium citrate supplement is good for the heart, mind and bowels . ✖️ Corn is one of the worst "foods " on the planet.
Personally I am more worried about the plastic bag given the EDC’s and “forever chemicals” they are now warning us about https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/can-you-microwave-plastic#safety Given that apparently the FDA has “forgotten” about the “Food” part of its name and given over regulation of food safety to the food industry…….
Take care with magnesium - it IS possible to overdose on it and you should get enough if you eat plenty of green leafy veges
