If someone misgenders another, justice must be swift. The crime is far too offensive to allow justice to delayed by police and courts. Justice delayed is justice denied. So, I have devised a way by which misgendering offenses can be immediately dealt with on the spot.

If some one misgenders you, misgender them right back, then (and this is the important part) whoever cares less, wins.
BANG! There you go, instant justice.

Would you get as up as trans people do if someone misgendered you?

As some do. Important distinction. For most, it's more important to them for their friends and family. When it comes down to it, how often does we actually hear third person pronouns used in front of us?

I don’t know about everyone else but when I talk to people I actually use their name.

I've heard that some people have difficulty distinguishing right from left. Some are more familiar with 'stick', 'stone'.

I misgendered two separate people at a convention last year and it was really embarrassing for me. I feel that in America our freedoms include being what you want to be and be damned to anyone else's feelings on it. More then that I want to accommodate those people and respect their decision. I apologized immediately and worked to do better. But hey as a conservative I feel personal freedom is the most important thing in our country and I am always surprised when other conservatives voice issues with gender issues. I just don't get it.

If you misgendered them then they arent trying hard enough. If they are SERIOUS about wanting to be the other gender, they should put some effort into it.

These are people I knew and I knew their preference and just did it unthinkingly. But I admit I would be more concerned for those that misgender on purpose.

I really just don't get this. We have men, we have women. We have hermaphrodites. That's really it. And then there is surgical alteration. But that still then doesn't produce a man, or a woman. It might produce the appearance of one, but fundamentally, until the part where genital transplants might become viable all you get is the illusion or the appearance. The rest is headspace. If a FTM still has to use the ladies because they can't use the urinal, well, it's a fail for me. More, if they cannot father children or if a MTF can't get impregnated and produce babies, what's the point?

Don't those involved PERSONALLY self identify as to what gender or variation there of they feel they are???It's nobody else's business!!

First we really don't have hermaphrodites in the actual sense of the word. A hermaphrodite would have working genitals and reproductive organs of both male and female. We do have intersexed people who have a superficial resemblance to such a condition, but not all the parts work. Now this is not an absolute. I've seen the woman with three breasts. But these individuals are more rare than transgenders are.

To resolve the GD. Not all MtF's even want kids, nor FtM's to father children. Some do, don't get me wrong. And there are also transgenders who would rather match the mind to body, than the body to mind, as we currently do. The end goal is to resolve the GD. Currently we only have one path, at least only one that doesn't cause more damage than it corrects. And that path has multiple points. Some transgenders can resolve GD simply by presenting, no surgery or hormones needed. In other cases, only the top needs altered, by surgery and/or hormones. And then there is what comes to most people's mind the full SRS. While I am sure that many would prefer to have or father babies, most would rather resolve the GD and be glad of it.

Then your feeling needs reconsidering, to absurdly charitable.
If you think a man claiming to be a woman is an expression thereof, you don't understand what it is.
No one who thinks men can be women has any damn business calling himself a conservative.

Who am I to say what another person wants to be called? Why should I care if a person says they are man, woman, or heck elven? What do they think about international intervention? What about the size and over reach of government? Maybe what they think about the over reach of judges trying to make policy? Those are the things that should be important to a conservative. What they do in the bedroom or what bathroom they use means nothing.

Seems odd to me that there are people obsessed with other peoples’ preferences. Live and let live.

It is patently stupid to have to play along with someone that is screw up in the head about the sex they are. And it is damed pushy of them to think I or anyone should have to play along with their lets pretend.

What the hell do I care?
If the person in question is in contact with children, especially with the imprimatur of the law, I'd say the question answers itself. Wouldn't you?
Doesn't matter, as they're obviously incompetent to exercise the voting franchise.

My friend Dave bought a used car last week, and Dave drove it to the lake where Dave went fishing for several hours. Dave did not catch any fish but Dave doesn't fish for food, Dave fishes for fun.

I don't think I could listen to someone that spoke like that, it's almost as bad as those creeps that speak in third person.

Normally I speak in first or second person. Third person is most useful when talking about multiple people.

Right, except you seem to have missed the part where I said when I talk to a person I use their name. I never said anything about when I tell a story about someone I know to someone else

I think he meant the idea of misgendering someone. I disagree, it has been used long before the cultural phenomenon of transgender, to degrade people.
