Athletes do more than point to the sky. When interviewed they give all thanks and glory to God. Tebow took a knee and prayed every football game. Did the fans pay to hear or see an athlete express their religious views on the field?

You don't find it the slightest bit hypocritical to be enraged at an athlete's political views, but completely ignore or couldn't care less of their religious views?

You sure seem to think you have a little nugget there don’t you?

Religion is not a divisive political movement based on skin color in 2020. Your analogy is simply not relevant.

No. You are way way off base, yeah a baseball analogy.

I have watched enough MLB baseball to know you are wrong, I don’t watch anything else so I do not know nor do I care what those players do.

It is extremely relevant. You don't think a single fan of any sport may be an atheist? I don't remember atheists freaking out and torturing themselves by boycotting a sport they love. Do you?

But you don't know that I'm wrong. That is your opinion, not fact. It is my opinion that boycotting something one enjoys and loves is self torture. Nobody is forcing the boycotters to leave other than themselves.

I am from south of Boston & I planned on watching tonight’s game.

I turned it off before the first pitch & I will not watch 1 inning this season.

I felt like I was watching a BLM promotional video. Big BLM sign spelled out in the bleachers & we even had to watch a video on BLM.

Then I watched scrubs like Jackie Bradley jr take a knee during the national anthem.
He should concentrate on hitting, which he sucks at.

Baseball is a dying sport & they just lost another fan today.

Yeah, that'll show em! Boycott something you love and torture yourself cause how dare athletes share an opinion that differs from you!

I do know that you are wrong about shows of religion in MLB being anything more than I posted. Like I said I’ve no ideal nor interest in what goes on in the other sports. I don’t watch them at all thus not concern on what they do.

    I’m not boycotting.

“withdraw from commercial or social relations with (a country, organization, or person) as a punishment or protest.”

I’m choosing not to subject myself to watching people tell me how they feel about social issues when I tuned in to watch them play ball. It’s not to punish anyone, it’s to prevent myself from having to see yet more social silly crap when all I want is an escape from life.

I’ll take Netflix over that. :)

It’s just walking away from something that offends you. Pretty rational thing to do. I’ve yet to see a single post on here calling for anyone else to “boycott” anything.

Cause it is a racially based movement than uses skin color to divide and segregate people in the name of racial unity.

They lost me at “white silence is violence”

If I don’t support then open and verbally I’m committing a violent act against them? You find that ideology acceptable? That inaction is a act of violence?

And of course they had to add “white” in there to really make it divisive.

They should be encouraged to keep their opinions to themselves and just play the damn game.

If these attention whores want to do something meaningful they should stop the silly nonsense for show and donate their salaries to a cause they believe in.

How is it divisive to say that a black life matters? No-one asserts that a black life matters more than any other life. I don't get it, other than I suspect faux outrage.

Oh crap...roll down there to a BLM protest and say “all lives matter” see what happens..

And “white silence in violence” you think that is acceptable? So I’m a committing racial violence by not saying or doing anything? You know some would say that if so then of course people would have the right to defend themselves against said violence. See the dark road that BS could lead too? It’s nothing more than if you are not with me then you are against me, check history for too many examples of bad crap that has lead too.

    Funny you said that !

I was just talking to my girlfriend and I told her I turned off the game. She asked if I was going to miss it & I told her the truth.

I won’t miss baseball at all.

Growing up it was always football & baseball.
I still love football “34 year Patriots season ticket holder”, but I have lost all interest in baseball. The game is about as exciting as watching paint dry.

At least in the 70’s we had the Red Sox vs Yankees rivalry & the Yankees fans yelled 1918. The rivalry was real & the teams hated each other.

These days ..... baseball has become boring.
I honestly wouldn’t care if MLB folded.

I do play fantasy baseball in a couple money leagues, so I will pay attention without through the stats, without watching.

I prefer the slower pace of baseball over any other sport. The flow just feels more enjoyable to me. But I get why many find it boring, it’s 3 hours for maybe 20 mins of real action.

Why would that matter? I'd give it a go. As for 'white silence in violence,' never heard of it. Must be a Yank thing.

Avoid watching the NA. Then you'll never know.
Not that it is ever broadcast. That's money making ad time for TV stations.

I understand exactly what you mean. Whenever I play an online game I get real annoyed when people bring politics into something that is supposed to be fun and an escape from exactly that type of stuff.

I keep telling them that if I wanted politics then I'd turn on the news or go to a forum.

Can't imagine it'd be much different for other types of things that are supposed to be about entertainment.

Most employers don't even allow political talk while on the job....especially with customers as politics are very divisive.

Well you do you. I for one will never deny myself of something I enjoy for such trivial reasons as politics or religion.
