    "Get up in their faces, tell them they're not welcome, when they go low we kick them, we can't be civil with Republicans".

    None of that inspires peaceful protests. That inspires 'othering' of conservatives and Republicans.

    Funny that the Left in general apparently does not feel similarly since they refuse to condemn KNOWN TO BE VIOLENT ANTIFA or hell, even Louis Farakhan for that matter who called for Whites to be murdered last year. But apparently that was just fine with most of them.

    The story I read was that there were about 30 Proud Boys in the club listening to a lecture. There were about 50 ANTIFA outside yelling "Kill more Nazis." Some Proud Boys went outside and an ANTIFA took a MAGA hat. A brawl ensued and words were spoken. Police did not arrest any Proud Boys.
    Now BOTH groups are despicable, but it seems as if ANTIFA started it and the Proud Boys finished it. Now here is where YOU condemn ANTIFA...

    If they assault people or destroy property, they should be arrested. If they do not assault people or destroy property, they have every right to verbally confront those whom they see as corrupt scumbags who are on the public dole. That's called freedom of speech. When these women who are pissed off about Kavanaugh and Trump start forming tatooed drug addled gangs and start beating each other up to initiate and give out merit badges for violent confrontations, then get back to me. Otherwise put a cork in it.

    For the far left this is the only logical reason people vote right.

    ANTIFA is a group that apparently is against fascism here in America. I have no problem with that premise, however if they assault people or destroy property, I certainly do not condone that. There are clear laws regarding that behavior and I think they should be enforced.

    Because violence is the way we are conditioned to deal with fascism. WW2 movies.
    So if you see it, then it's OK to respond to it in this manner.

    So the premise is the problem.
    It isn't true and it unlocks a certain type of social behaviour to pretend that it is true.

    You have to do more than condone the violence, you have to stop justifying the ideology that causes it.

    Do you suggest that we make being against fascism illegal? Or let Donald Trump and his Proud Boys tell us what to believe? My idea is that we arrest people for their actions if they are illegal, but allow groups or individuals to believe and espouse anything they want. I think I read that somewhere...

    I'll grant you that you stated there won't be civility regardless what the D's accomplish.

    The incivility that has become part of the New Democratic Party platform shouldn't be thought to end, no matter what happens.

    I tried to search for reports from other outlets. Most I never heard of. The ones I had heard of, including Think Progress, I don't trust.

    Keep in mind, the guys who attacked weren't these Proud Boys guys.

    It was the protesters who attacked the "Boys" after they came out of a meeting where they listened to some guy named McInnes speak. They knocked down a guy and stole his backpack. Bad move, the "Boys" responded.

    Three guys were arrested, none were "Proud Boys".

    This thread is total bullshit.
