We should have a mock election to see who would win a presidential race out of the people on this site.

If anyone is interested, reply here, and we can work on putting it together. We would be holding a mock election as well, and people will vote on who wins, based on their debate performance.

We need to decide how the dabtes will be set up.

first, I do not want the two party debates that we have in real elections. Each major party will be allowed in..Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Green, and Constitutionalists. We will also allow other third parties in, but they must have a full platform posted to people can see what their party stands for. and then we have some independents as well.

Second, we need to figure out the actual layout of the debate, since there will be more than just two candidates the Opening statement, argument-rebuttal, closing statements layout might not work. Who gets to do a rebuttal for example, allowing every candidates a rebuttal would take too long.

Third, we need the issues that will be discussed. Of course, major issues like jobs, the economy, etc will be on the card, but what about gun control, gay marriage, etc.....they should be discussed as well.

So then are we looking at individual people debating, or will it be a team? And if a team, how many people?

it would be a president and VP candidate. They would debate together. Each party/independent must have 2 people.

I would say just let each political group pick them. We can have "Primaries" with users from each party and let the users nominate them.
