What a brave woman! Canada has some vicious laws against "Hate Speech". (Ernst Zundel comes to mind!)
Why they call holocaust denial a hate speech is puzzling to me. People aren't hating anyone, they are only trying to bring the truth as they see it into the open. Just like Ursula Haverbeck was expressing what she knew to be the truth.

Can't say that for certain unless you were in those shoes, and rest assured, that would not be an easy choice. In addition, I haven't read the details as to how culpable he actually was, but if I were to go off his sentence of five years, he probably wasn't actively participating in their killing.

What a sweet old woman! I can't fathom how one can get so old and still function this good!

So, she says the Germans didn't know what was going on in Naziland. That is probably quite true, as I have heard it many times before.

Europe is drifting to the right? That could be a good thing, in my opinion, but I don't see it happening. The Jews are overly worried and see the antisemitism boogeyman everywhere. Most European countries are devoted to Israel... Germany, France and Briton for sure!

There were three important pieces written after the war that must be considered in this discussion.

General Eisenhower's, Crusade in Europe, published in 1948

Winston Churchill's, The Second World War, which was 1000s of pages and had to be published in 6 volumes from 1948-1954, and

General de Gaulle's, Mémoires de guerre, published in 3 volumes from 1954-1959.

In all of that you will find not one mention of Nazi gas chambers.
