London is Remoaner country --- its all being knocked down now anyway --- the place is unrecognizable.
I oppose leaving with a deal. I propose we leave in the sense of the word leave. You don't say to the gym owner, "I would like to leave the gym but can I strike a deal. Can I still use the swimming pool and cafe?". If you're panicking about the economy (bearing in mind the doomsters predictions have never materialised) I suggest you should move to France. Lies on a bus? Did you know, the membership EU fee equates to 69% of our council tax. More than enough to invest in our public services and infrastructure. And when we can ditch foreign aid, that's a few hundred million freed up. **** the EU. Anyone who loves the EU, get out of the UK, you're not wanted.
But then we are not allowed to invest in our infrastructures! We have to put every contract and service out to tender - so that the monies which used to be plowed back into the municipal project now go into private pockets leaving the people bereft.
So many laws to repeal that it will take at least ten years - at least. The worst of it is that all of our old structures, especially local govs, have been dismantled - in a sense we are now an empty shell so it is important not to take our eyes of what comes next. That is if Boris doesn't let us down too.
The high court did no such thing. They judged that it was a political matter not a legal one which was overturned by the SC. Like it or not the SC is the highest court in the land and they ruled it unlawful.
The SC were wrong! The High Court of the Queen's Bench Division, had the most learned and qualified judges in the UK sitting, with 300 yrs of precedence behind them, found that the case was not judisticable in Her Majesty's courts. https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Miller-No-FINAL-1.pdf The SC, which was invented by Blair after he sacked the Law Lords ( they who sat on the Queen's Bench above), made up a new law using no precedence at all bar an irrelevant ancient proclamation. They broke our constitution, totally ripped it to pieces it was an outrageous judgement made by minor judges, academics and EJC judges - it was hooliganism. Art 9 Bill of Rights 1689 freedom of speech and debates or proceedings in Parliament ought not to be impeached or questioned in any court or place out of Parliament'. Seriously, the last time we faced such a constitutional crisis it ended in civil war. One can only pray that Boris gets a huge majority, when the evil ones finally allow us a GE, to enable him to disband that nasty foreign court in our Lords - otherwise we have to admit that we are now ruled by the judiciary - and I am not a Tory!
The Tories have had 9 years to abolish the SC if they thought it was so unconstitutional. Bitching about it now is just desperation because it ruled against the government. It wasn't even a close decision, it was unanimous 11-0. A large majority for Boris is just wishful thinking. All indications are for another hung Parliament. If BoJo's corruption charges are proven, it won't even be him leading the party into any election.
Cameron and or May? Yer right! I am not bitching. I am a student of law who cares about the many many many centuries of peace within that our constitution has brought us. The SC judgement was wrong and has set a dangerous precedent = from now on anything Gov does can be challenged in court = judges rule the land = tyranny. Unless he gets us a clean break from the protection racket, defense and all - and unless he makes a pact with Farage he is unlikely to get a large enough majority to do much, I agree. Many of the Remoaners will lose their seats in the next GE though, especially in the North and Wales, and our Parliament is likely to look like another country after it no-matter what happens on and after the 19th. There was a Police investigation into the corruption charge - he came out clean - this circus now is just Khan revenge.
