Apparently they are trying to ban all shirts that are NRA, or gun manufacturing in kid sizes. Just heard that recently but i cannot remember the name of the bill. Get him a shirt fast.
Next thing you know , they'll pass a law that prohibits teaching your own children about firearms due to "endangerment", punishable up to life in prison, placement of said children in foster care, seizure of all property, and spousal hanging. Those shirts had better not make a public appearance post-enactment. Instead of parents and qualified instructors to teach out kids, they'll have Halo or Call of Duty do it for you...now, isn't that a grand idea?
Sad as it is, I don't think you're too far off about the libs taking more control from the parents. Because after all, they believe that the 'government knows better'.
