France isn't the worst considering birth rate. The propaganda is more "diversity make us stronger" or "we need immigration" or simply not to talk of the fact that the crime rate grow 3 time bigger in the 60's following.
In the end, I don't have that much hostility to migrants, even if for me some have clearly not their place there. They come from poorer country, they want to live a better life. That's quite logical. I have much more hostility for mass immigration advocates.

I think it's more a question of decadency. Surrounded by their slaves and their richness, the romans became weak, they didn't had the strength anymore to fight invaders. Comfort make people decadent.
