Some suffer other disorders. But the vast majority of them have severe problems.

maybe your lack of understanding of people that might be different than you which is either ignorance or bigotry.
Not sure what a "gun people" is, or what it means to be "so into guns."

I've never come across a person that loved guns add some sort of bizarre fetish, I don't doubt they exist to some extent because there's someone who has a fetish for everything. I just doubt they're very common.
well it's not it's not a safety tool it is a weapon and it is meant to kill people and that's what people have them for.

people who belong to gun clubs are often sport shooters. You go to the range to practice because shooting accurately is a skill it isn't an action like putting on a safety belt. If you complain about people taking pictures with their guns that's just an opinion thing. I can't stand it when people take pictures of their food and post it. unless it's like a cake you decorated and it looks really nice, I don't care what you're about to eat.

But I don't belong to any photo sharing websites because they're vapid and imbecilic.

Maybe your opinion on photography and food is born out of ignorance and bigotry.

    Regardless, my point stands.

Gun people seem to like to talk about guns beyond them just being some sort of "safety" tool. They don't seem to go on about door locks in the same manner.

I’ve yet to meet a gun owner, other than my dad, who didn’t love their guns. Pretty much every gun owner I know has at least a half dozen guns. If that ain’t a fetish I don’t know what is. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. People are free to spend their money on whatever they want. To each his own.

will photography of food is important and that's how people sell their food items. I can appreciate photography.

well in the beginning the first response I made to you in this thread was if you thought what you stated added anything to the conversation meaning I didn't see any point that you made.

You talked about gun love and outside of a ZZ top song I have no idea what that is.you talked about gun people like I'm supposed to know what that is.
I don't know I've had many of conversations about safety glasses or hard hats which one's better which one's more comfortable. I've had discussions about door locks too. I run into people that are hobbyists with regard to locksmithing and lock picking.

Yes people talk about things oh my God the horror.

If it doesn't interest you don't listen to people talking about it.

you some must keep strange company.

I enjoy talking to people about guns helping them find one that suits their needs or desires. I enjoy going to the range and shooting. Is that what you mean by people who love their guns?

So? My brother was a numismatist he enjoyed collecting coins he had thousands of them.

    It's a hobby who cares?

I have a bookshelf with over a dozen DVDs on it does that mean I have a fetish for movies?
I don't know why it's a fetish to have 12 of something. I know a guy that has 31 cars I wouldn't consider that a fetish he just likes them. He drives some of them he keeps some of them in the garage because he thinks they're cool.

Is there an association for hard hats with lobbying power of the NRA? Are you a member?

Again, my point is simple....the infatuation with guns goes way beyond "safety tool"....

I would think this is obvious to everyone.

Are there threads here that go on about how suicide with safety glasses kills all the right people?

Not my company. It’s people at my gun club, people at gun shows, people at gun stores. They all LOVE to talk about all their guns. I’ve lost count at the number of times I’ve been told I’ll catch the gun bug and want to buy more and more and more guns. Never happened of course. The most I had at once was two. A revolver and semi-auto.
As I said, I don’t care. Own all the guns you like.

Suicides are suicides, not gun deaths. The gun is merely the tool used in SUICIDE. The only reason gun grabbers try to inject suicide numbers is because actual gun deaths don't really fit the narrative. Actual gun deaths occur predominantly in urban liberal run hellholes, often with unlawfully owned guns. By dishonestly adding suicides they can then tie lawfully owned firearms to deaths in America. Its morally and intellectually bankrupt, but then again so is infringing on the rights of millions...

Without that tool, most suicides would have been unsuccessful.

I don't think there's ever existed a political movement with lobbying power to try and ban the ownership of hard hats. So it wouldn't make sense that there would be a lobbying group to counter that so not sure what your point is here.

I'm sorry your point doesn't make any sense what infatuation what on Earth are you talking about?
what would you think was obvious? summit infatuation you fabricated in your mind why would something that you invented be obvious?

Don't have a clue what you're talking about.
I wasn't aware objects possess the ability to have intent.

There are literally hundreds of tools, it just happens the gun is one of the most effective. Its not like there weren't suicides before there were guns, or that suicide rates aren't higher in some places that it is almost impossible to own a gun. Suicide has nothing to do with gun deaths...

if you choose to go to this club it is The company You Keep.

so people who buy and sell guns and learn about the product that they're selling or buying are fetishists? So a grocer is it dairy fetishist?

everybody loves to talk about something. be at their children or their achievements or the vehicle. I've been to car shows where people do these amazing things with cars I can appreciate it it's not something I would do but it doesn't mean it isn't cool. And there's people that gas on about wine it's just a ****ing drink. I wouldn't call either one of those people fetishists even though I don't care for wine culture.

I remember years ago somebody gave me their RC car neat little thing had a little kerosene driven engine on it, they could go about 70 miles an hour it was a fun little toy. They told me I would get bitten and I would want to buy more and more I found the hobby tedious.

It's that whole different strokes thing.

I respect that old All-U-Want sentiment but I just don't understand why that one thing is a fetish when any other type of hobby isn't.

I never got into model trains I tried their cool I can appreciate them but I don't want to sit there and fiddle with that all day. I know people that are into it I go over to their house once in awhile and talk to him about it and then we'll talk all night long about it. I do that because I enjoy that person's company. I don't consider him a fetishist.

Well okay I guess your point is people who own guns are icky and gross. Kind of like the fundamentalist Christians point of view on gay people.

    Uh, that's a stretch.

You don't get at all what I'm saying and than make up what I'm saying?

    That's interesting.

no, fundies use words like reprobate and sodomite, you use words like gun lovers, and gun people. The rest of the rhetoric is interchangable.

You are failing to properly communicate than. I'm giving you feedback. This is what you are communicating to an audience that isn't in on your lingo.

Explain your lingo. Apparently gun people are people who own guns and like to learn about them. You despise that.

I'm willing to accept I received a message you didn't intend on communicating. But you have to clarify.

Not really. You are just being obstinate.

The only reason people commit suicide is because there is guns... Didn't you know?

I'll never understand why people who think the police are out of control want to have less power.

Sports fans confuse me. People who are fanatics about something they know nothing about, have no interest in learning about, and criticize others for caring about completely confound me.

Why do you even care about firearms? If you cared about crime, suicide, and accidental death you would be posting advocating for reinstatement of the 18 th amendment.
