The religion that interests me the most is of course Christianity, because I believe in it. But the other main religions that I think have some interesting elements are Eastern religions like Shintoism, Buddhism, and Hinduism-because of their mythologies and philosophies.

No secret here, but the most interesting religion to me is Buddhism. You get the love thy neighbor philosophy of Christianity without the hellfire and brimstone. Buddhists don't believe you will spend eternity burning in hell if you screw up, just being reborn into this world is pretty bad. Not that the Buddhists don't have a hell, they actually have 8 major hells that have 16 minor hells of their own, but you have to be really bad to get sent there and it is only for a limited, though very long, amount of time (you can be stuck in one hell, Pratāpana, the "great heating" for 4.2467328×10[SUP]17[/SUP] years) and friends and loved ones can give you some of their merits to get you out sooner.

What I really like about Buddhism though is its pragmatism and tolerance of other religions. Buddhists believe that there are many paths to Nirvana, they just believe theirs is the best path. I also respect Buddhism's doctrine of the middle path. That is to seek moderation in all things. Of course if we did that, this forum would probably be a ghost town overnight.
