I'm an old guy. I lived a lot of my life in the US Army in the old "West Germany". It was a good place, filled with Germans that had fled from East Germany from the Russians into the safety of friendly Americans. I lived for years in a West Germany that loved Americans. Reunification changed Germany. It became much more socialist. Much more Russia friendly. Much more anti-American. Merkel led that transformation for years.

 

Great photo...... the body language speaks volumes. Trump being defiant and belligerent.........and she being patient and tolerant ...

 

The ONLY time Trump was NOT embarrassing was when he was in the hospital being treated for COVID. He didn't have on that hideous orange make-up and his hair wasn't in that ugly style. It was also the only time (to my recollection) that he didn't call it the "China Virus". He actually looked and sounded like a normal human being. I was holding out hope that he would leave the hospital and change his stance on the importance of modeling what what the CDC was recommending. However, that didn't happen. He ripped off his mask after climbing the White House stairs, waving and turned to go inside (there were two employees, sans masks, holding the doors open for him.

Merkel is extremely talented and I like that she wasn't involved in various scandals and her constituents seem to really like her. If he wasn't such a narcissistic idiot, he could have learned from her. I don't recall her ever embarrassing her country while Orange Jesus...<smh>

Indeed. They are so threatened by successful, intelligent and capable women........so they feel they have to degrade them. They just humiliate themselves by making those kind of comments. Successful confident women could care less about name calling........and just dismiss it for the foolishness that it is.. They have the strength of character that filters out garbage like that.

It i s the insecure that seem t need to put others down to make themselves look better to themselves. Some men are just intimidated by confident women. It 't the male ego thing...
