Well, here's the thing about all that: Her intent was to be "positive and celebratory" Okay. But that photo - she didn't just walk into the production studio with it and plop it into the rotation completely unknown to the staff. This was run thru show editors, directors, and producers, noted by the production staff and crews, and was 99.999% likely discussed beforehand with the other members of the panel. In other words, EVERYONE on that show knew that pic was coming up, there were no surprises here. So the explanation that it was intended to be positive and celebratory falls a but flat, to say the least. The intent to mock was there all along.

Now, I still believe her apology is sincere - maybe she really was completely clueless as to how much of a bully her and her associates would come off as once the cameras were on. People can do completely insensitive things while innocently thinking it's not insensitive at all - until the rest of the world points it out. But that's what producers and directors of shows are for IIRC - to point out possible errors before they occur. And the only reason that photo was used is because they wanted it to be used as a means of mocking Romney. Too late, MSNBC realized they were really making fun of an innocent kid.

Here's another thing that should (but won't) be of major concern to MSNBC: Had CNN not pointed it out, no one would have heard of the story. If introspection was a part of the typical MSNBC management makeup, they would realize that - but it isn't. This leads to two conclusions: 1) The entire MSNBC audience, crew, and management is completely oblivious to their immature behavior to the point where no one within, either cast or audience is capable of comprehending it, and 2) CNN has an unbelievable amount of people who listen to them as compared to MSNBC - because CNN could make it a story. MSNBC, no one was even watching. And no one cared.

Remember this isn't the Romney's child anyhow. It's the governments to do with as they please. So if she sees fit to bully a child she can. The child is just property of the Obama's administration.

Excellent post. And I don't believe her apology was sincere. When adults says despicable (*)(*)(*)(*) like this, they know exactly what they're saying.... this 'I'm so sorry bull(*)(*)(*)(*), I didn't mean to offend anyone" is being said simply b/c of an angry and disgusted public......

I wonder how many public apologies MSNBC will have to air b/f the head honchos realize their commentators are beneath contempt?

Some moron called Laura Ingraham a 'slut'. Baldwin made a racial slur to a reporter, we all know what Bashir said about Palin and now this female and her cronies in regards to a black baby being adopted by a white family.......

    Someone upstairs isn't very bright.........

I don't think it's a matter of management being stupid, this is exactly what they want. They don't hire people based on professionalism, they're hired based on commitment to the liberal cause. The problem is is that you can't have the latter without a huge loss of the former. MSNBC has become EXACTLY what they accuse FOX of being and they don't even know it.

What it all boils down to is management becoming utterly removed from reality. When the only thing that matters is making cheap shots at the competition, you lose whatever else might make you great - or good - or in MSNBC's case, even mediocre. The fact that CNN of all places had to point it out should be a wake-up call to MSNBC, but as I said before - bad enough every single employee of MSNBC did not, would not, could not comprehend what they did, neither did their audience.

Her apology was probably sincere. But until management wakes up and sees what the REAL problem is, they're gonna be making a lot more of 'em at MSNBC.
