The United States is currently considering its response to the recent chemical weapons attack in Syria. It would be surprising if the vast majority of Americans want another open ended war in the Middle East, but, who knows? Some Americans believe the attack was sickening, while others consider it a justifiable method to fight al Qaeda insurgents among the rebels. However, if we look back in history a quarter century, when King Ronny could do nothing wrong, we will find the U.S. was a collaborator in chemical weapons attacks. (This was around the same period His Majesty was arming the freedom fighters in Afghanistan in their war with the Soviet Union. They are known now as the Taliban.) As aghast as the conservatives and neoconservatives will be with such an allegation against their biggest hero, the facts remain. King Ronny gave his friends in Iraq intelligence reports about his former allies in Iran, allies that helped him get elected with the Iran/Contra Hostages for Weapons deal. The results of this sharing of classified information were chemical weapons attacks ordered by Saddam Hussein against Iranian troops. Chemical weapons attacks that went ignored by the White House. With this knowledge, it is going to be very difficult for the Republicans and their devoted right wing supporters to condemn Obama, regardless of his response to the chemical attack in Syria. Huffington is simply showing reports from the article to more Americans. Just because you don't like what it says doesn't mean King Ronny is innocent.
No one in politics at the top levels is innocent. You will always have blood on your hands the only thing you get to choose is how that blood gets there and whose it will be. You can get blood on your hands by dithering as the Obama adminstration seems overly fond of doing or you can get blood on your hands by acting as Reagan was likely overly fond of doing. Blood however is blood. Whether it gets there from dithering or action it is still blood and it still makes the same nasty stain. At least if you act you get to choose whose blood is upon your hands rather than merely being it's dumping ground.
9/11 changed the world. 9/11 caused an emotional shock through the world's population. Means the people (billions) that saw the events of 9/11 changed emotionally. And an individual can't see that, can't feel that (because it's an evolutionary process, has to do with survival, people in fear, uncertaintly and/or anger group together, organize invisibly, this is what is going on for twelve years now) Politics is taking advantage of this organisation (Egypt is the clearest example, in the West hardly noticable, because organisation is going via politics, via the parties (which are mass organisations) This era is about only one thing that is going on for thousands of years on this planet, about mass organisation (the many empires show you, these are the historical warnings, but because no politician nor the media is talking about them, people are unware the same is happening to them in this time. And if the media start to inform people, they are trying to cause resistance against this rising danger (again emotion politics is used, or the emotion card is drawn, never really and seriously warning what is really going on) This is why times have changed (change means empire building and mass organisation, the two big processes that are going on for over twelve years now)
A right-wingers justification for King Ronny's collaboration in the commission of war crimes is expected, as was the condemnation of Obama for permitting Dubya's atrocities to continue. But everyone knows, had McCain or Mitt been elected President, you right-wingers would be defending every escalation of the war in Afghanistan, and proudly beating on the war drums encouraging a return to Iraq to use it as a staging area for the invasion of Iran. You right-wingers are so predictable, it’s beyond pathetic.

If we decide to do Iran and I hope like hell we don't have to, we will not first take on Iraq, as it is out of the way and it wastes time. I am not going to lay out how that should and likely would be done as you, knowing nothing about air land and sea operations, wouldn't begin to understand the logic. Reagan unlike your messiah never had any ambition for kingship. The chemical weapons are known to have come from Germany. They were used in a war between two nations againt the other side's soldiers mean while the one's being used in Syria are being used against civilian populations during a civil war with out regard to minimizing collateral damage. This is more pathetic dodging from an increasingly intellectually compromised Obama camp.
