NBA star Donovan Mitchell says living in Utah while black was draining and heartbreaking

It doesn’t seem as though Donovan Mitchell enjoyed his time playing in Utah.

Mitchell, who spent the first five seasons of his NBA career with the Jazz before the team traded him to the Cavaliers this offseason, said his experience in Utah was “draining” for a multitude of reasons.

“It’s a little comforting for me, 100 percent,” Mitchell told Andscape’s Marc J. Spears about playing in Cleveland, where the population is predominately black. “I’m not going to lie about that. It’s no secret there’s a lot of stuff that I dealt with being in Utah off the floor. If I’m being honest with you, I never really said this, but it was draining.

“It was just draining on my energy just because you can’t sit in your room and cheer for me and then do all these different things. I’m not saying specifically every fan, but I just feel like it was a lot of things. A [Utah] state senator [Stuart Adams] saying I need to get educated on my own black history. Seeing black kids getting bullied because of their skin color. Seeing a little girl [Isabella Tichenor] hang herself because she’s being bullied.

Donovan is tired of racism, etc.

 

Even millionaires can claim to be victims if they try hard enough.

 

Cool story bro! Can you show me the videos of utah white kids bullying black kids? Better yet, can you find a video of a 15 year old white boy on a bus punching a 9 year old black girl in the head 100x? You'll be looking for a looooooong time!

 

Ha...you won't want to mess with Donovan. The guy is HUGE and would knock anyone out. The guy is one of the best players in the NBA right now.

I find the lack of white guys in the NBA..............to be HEART BREAKING

 

WOW, there are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more black guys. Why isn't there an equal number? It's not even close.

 

The structural racism inherent in the NBA I just find exhausting and draining. It saps me of strength needed to resist it's oppression.

Those are the 3 white superstars right now, there are probably around 50-60 white men in the NBA right now.

 

It might be that black men are talented at football and basketball, white men talented at hockey

 

And that would be because...?

 

You think the NBA would have some sort of diversity and equity programs that reaches out to young white men who would like to be part of their industry.

 

I think the definition of diversity is not being used correctly in this article.

How many white guys and how many Asian guys? Won’t that make that clot quit crying about how awful it is to live where your keys can sit on the dash?

 

Donovan wants to see changes to American society, for whites and blacks to be equal. There has to be like 50 white guys or such.

Blacks are talented at basketball and football. That's reality.

 

So you’re going with the merit argument rather than the equity in numbers argument you used for football coaches.

 

I personally know a white kid that hung himself in utah last year. Was he not worthy of mentioning because of his race? It’s obvious that Mitchell is racist and would rather be around his own race. Well, hopefully he’ll enjoy Cleveland’s ranking in 5th highest murder rate in the US over Salt Lake City’s that doesn’t even make the Top 20.

If he enjoys his race, he can enjoy the stats they produce. Then maybe, just maybe we will hear him address the fact that the largest killer of his race is his own race. But… I doubt he cares about that. Why would he? I mean no one cares about that and it’s not popular. Only care about what MSM tells to right?

 

Are you suggesting that blacks are superior at basketball and football because of their skin color?

 

Where are whites and blacks not equal, besides in the nba? If they’re equal, there should be as many white guys. And Asians.
