ZANESVILLE, Ohio—Mitt Romney is out with a new television ad accusing President Barack Obama of cutting Medicare funds to pay for his health care reform law.

'You paid into Medicare for years. Every paycheck," a voiceover says. "Now when you need it, Obama has cut $726 billion dollars from Medicare. Why? To pay for Obamacare."

The 30-second ad vows that Romney and Rep. Paul Ryan, his vice-presidential running mate, would protect Medicare for "today's seniors" and would strengthen the plan "for the next generation."

Romney aides declined to say where the ad is airing or how much it is spending on the spot. But the ad come after days of Democratic attacks over Ryan's budget proposal, which called for an overhaul of Medicare and other entitlement programs.

News flash for the panty-waists and hand-wringers- Romney is not McLame. He proved that with picking Ryan, but he's also not going to sit back like a pansy and have OhBama and Company write the narrative for the election.

The more i see of Mitt, the more impressed I am, and the more I think he could be the greatest conservative to sit in the WH in a generation. He is going to surprise us, I truly believe.

I agree with this whole-heartedly.

I said several months ago that my read on Romney was that he is a LOT more conservative than his policy/words indicate, and people were - intentionally or not - ignoring the reality of circumstance in which he had to operate.

How do you suppose a fire-breathing Conservative gets elected in Massachusetts?

They don't.

But a deft negotiating Conservative clearly did.

Romney's obviously a brilliant businessman, and he's also extremely philanthropic. He's apparently also an adept delegator (you don't completely turn around a failing Salt Lake Olympics unless you are). Now, with his latest move, the selection of Ryan, he's also an extremely shrewd judge of character, and of his own shortcomings.

This selection is a loud-and-clear message to Conservatives. He's playing for keeps, and is not interested in being Obama-lite, but dedicated to saying "Obama: GOOD NIGHT".

I'm behind him, and this campaign.

 

This is great news. They need to spread the truth about Obama and his record. If they do, they will win. But it's up to each of us to dig as deep as we can to fund educating the people who simply don't pay attention. Sadly, it's these fools that are going to decide the race.

 

Romney took a chance with Ryan regarding taking on entitlements. It is usually a Democrat issue that wins. But Obamacare has changed the face of politics by turning the whip against the master. They are taking aim and running right at them. He hasn't even reached into the heart of his war chest yet. Gawd, I'd hate to be the guy who had to face the Romney war chest, especially if I was as big a failure as Obama is.

There are no other "versions" of it....

 

ObamaCare is not an entitlement though. It is government attempting to force everyone to buy something from the private sector. And it is using public money meant for an entitlement to pay for it.

So then, you won't care that it also increases in some cases Medicare spending? And that the cuts are from the elderly, or taxpayers for that matter. Most of them are subsidaries from Drug companies or the like.

If nothing else, reimbursements to doctors continue to go down, such that the costs to other patients keep going up, and more doctors stop providing for Medicare patients, and the doc fix grows even more.
