Umm no, it is not "essentially a visa" - that is fake news. It is pre-clearance, essentially the very same thing the US has been requiring from EU citizens (and others) since 2009. A big difference is price - the EU will only charge 7 Euros (($8.00) while the US charges $14.00. In your world, what the EU is implementing in 2021 might be "tagging" those who don't tow the "globalist line". This sounds so stupid and is absolute bullsh*t, just as is any claim the US system is tagging "globalists". Only the truly weak can be corrupted by ridiculous conspiracy theories and display willing ignorance of facts..........I'm not "calling it what I will" - I've called it what it is - a pre-clearance system, which isn't even remotely comparable to a visa, except for those who prefer fake news. To help you understand the difference, I've attached two links - the first describes the US system (ESTA) established in 2009 and the second describes the planned EU system (ETIAS) for 2021. I will warn you, these two sites contain real facts.......not disinformation, conspiracy theories etc.

I do believe you are correct...and this is very sad news, especially in this day & age when legitimate, factual information is more readily available than ever before in the past, for those willing to spend just a few minutes searching for it.......damn scary times we live in.......
